October Newsletter

Dear Parents,
This month we will be continuing our work with classroom procedures and
expectations. We have already started our numbers 1-10 and our handwriting which has been
coming home every day. Please make sure that you are having your child complete the back
side of the paper for homework. They do not have to send this back to school - we will be
using the honor system.
We also have started our small group work here in class. The students are pulled to
work with me on certain skills and are building their own libraries in their personal book
boxes. These boxes are used for our "read-to-self" time and we are already up to 5 minutes. I
am hoping to have them at 10 minutes before the end of October (it's a goal - not a
destination).
Please be reminding your child of appropriate school behavior especially when it comes
to keeping their hands to themselves and following directions. I appreciate your support.
