Math strategies
I have been with a math teacher, my teacher use a lot of strategies during math
lessons, one of the strategies that she used is hands-on, this strategy is useful
because when the student face problem teacher use manipulatives such as
counters, fraction strips, spinners .First, she uses counters, to teach one-to-one
correspondence, ordinal numbers, and basic addition and subtraction, the second
strategy is the pattern blocks can be used to create, find, or extend patterns, the
third strategy is place-value mats to show each digit's place value when using
base-10 blocks, the fourth strategy is hundred chart to model to the student how
to add ten and one more, and how to subtract ten and one less .Also, I use with
my student finger strategy,
it’s a very useful strategy for second grade student as they learn for the second
time how to add, so we show them that we can use our fingers to add and
subtract small digit numbers.
