Chapter I

Introduction

Autism is a disorder that may affect many aspects of a person’s life. Autism exist in early

development, usually before the age of 6 of a child. A diagnosis of Autism includes the

following aspects:

Continuing current and past behavior on variety of settings, especially when a

person with Autism failed to get what he/she needed. The Nonverbal communication that

affect on how they interact to others and repetitive of activities. Hobbies and actions that

is difference to other peers interest. Also to a person that has Autism disorder there is a

problem in their sensory reaction.

On my subject, Mj that has an autism disorder that have a problem in his cognitive and

emotional. His reaction to a certain things is not inline of what it should at his age compared to

other peers. There’s a problem on his interest to the things that causes his behavior to be

aggressive and sometimes cannot control by his family when he didn’t get what he want. Also

the way he interact to others that is difference compared to other peers at his age, because of his

unconscious desired for his actions.

The purpose of this study is to determine the teaching style that may apply for a child

with autism disorder. This will help a parent who has a child with Autism disorder to be aware

what are the problems that will occurs and to know what possible way to do if unconscious

behavior happen.
