EXERCISE:

1. Given an FM station with an ERP of 1kW, determine the distance to the point where the field
strength is 50µV/m and if the antenna height is 500 feet above average terrain.

2. A 1 kilowatt ERP FM station has its antenna installed atop a 330-foot tower. Determine the field
strength at 65 miles away.

3. Given a TV station with a transmitter output power of 10 kilowatts, transmission line loss of 0.5 dB
and an antenna gain of 3.5 dB, determine the distance to the point where the field strength is 250
microvolts per meter if the antenna height is 200 feet.

4. DZOO 101.9 MHz was allowed to operate at 10 kilowatts with an antenna gain of 3.5dB and
transmission line loss of 0.5 dB. What is the maximum distance of coverage for DZOO?
