THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction

Senior high school considered as college students in early 90’s. They


are the one whose taking up technical or vocational courses consist of two
years to get your diploma. In this term, this are considered as college
graduate in vocational courses. But now that the K-12 is implemented, this
vocational course is divided to certain categories to choose from and to
finish this in 2 years’ time. After then, that’s the only time that are considered
as high school graduate and rendered the diploma for it. This is how now
categorized the standard of education in the Philippines. Many changes
and challenges came ahead on what we least expected, like technology,
it is far beyond our expectations that everyone can use this technology how
to roam around, classify things in common, use as information gatherings,
giving everyone to know what are the happenings in your life and most
especially, how to communicate and have a good and convenient way
to prosper your life. One of this is online selling which can help others, to
earn for a living in a more convenient way.

Online selling is on top of the line kind of business that can help
through the use of technology particularly on selling. In this way, social
media is a big factor and help to purchase online. The students don’t need
to go out and hangout, struggle for the outstanding traffic and strenuous
walking in the mall just to shop and buy the things they need. Posting,
advertising, and having a numerous followers and friends in any kind of
social media account is a big help in it. Even the youngest person on earth
who knows how to explore and use this kind of technology will become a
millionaire with this kind of business. This become the most influential and
easy to use application that even the younger user can easily transact with
this kind of selling business because you can easily purchase the things they
want in their posts.

Background of the Study

Online selling has become a new trend of shopping nowadays and


is quickly becoming an important part of a lifestyle. Due to wide spread
internet access by people and e-commerce usage of traders, online selling
has been massive growth in recent years. Young people or students have
been the majority shoppers in online and thus the study finds out the
attitudes or the effects of this in young people towards online selling.

With the growing age of the internet and the increasing trend of
people using the internet for shopping and searching, out of the
innovations of the information technology, internet is by far the most
attracting considerable media.

Online selling or e-selling is a form of electronic commerce which


allows consumers to directly buy goods or services from a seller over the
Internet using a web browser. Alternative names are: e-web-store, e-shop,
e-store, Internet shop, web-shop, web-store, online store, online storefront
and virtual store. Mobile commerce (or m-commerce) describes
purchasing from an online retailer's mobile optimized online site or app.

This study is conducted for the Marketing students to have


knowledge on how they can understand the behavior of their future
customers, if they plan to have their own business or even work in an
organization where they interact to their customers through online but
many students having a online selling are affected their education.
On top of this, online selling is very influential and useful too. That is
why the students, particularly the senior high school was very known and
convenient for them to choose this kind of technology. We say influential
because this make their shopping experience with convenience and
affordable. They don’t need to struggle the traffic anxiety, the problem
where to look for the perfect thing they want and of course, the process of
transporting the goods back to their houses especially when it is heavy and
bulky. This kind of technology can ease the burden you will carry when you
chose to go to the mall and spent all of your time roaming around just to
get the best stuff you want. On this kind of business, you just have to browse,
choose and click and then pay to be delivered right at your doorstep. That
is why they go for this kind of convenience. Some other students even think
or do the same thing because this is their little way to help their parents and
earn money too.

The students of College of Arts and Sciences of Asia and the Pacific
in Rodriguez Rizal studied this kind of business because it is relevantly
interesting and this is the known way of purchasing and selling business that
uses the technology and social media wisely. Many students find this site
and application cheaper, wiser friendly, convenient, and accessible to
everyone. They find it helpful and economically in time because almost
everybody uses the technology.

Some study shows that using social media and technology can do
good business beyond home. It can do the business without going out
every day and put yourself in the stress on the street. At the same time, can
do the household duties and have some more quality time with the family.
It is why the senior students pursue to take deeper study with online selling.
Knowing more about this they did all their best to explore how they can be
more understandable and valuable to create and conclude that
technology who we know just to reach people and give information can
be this useful to enhance our way of living lessen the hassles and anxiety.

Statement of the Problem

This study aimed to study and analyzed the effects of online selling
on senior high school students of College of Arts and Sciences of Asia and
the Pacific.

Specifically, it sought to answer the following;

1. Personal information of the respondent in terms of:

2. What are the effects of online selling on senior high school students
of College of Arts and Sciences of Asia and the Pacific in terms of:
2.1 Technology
2.2 Social media
2.3 Study
2.4 Allowance
3. What are the positive effects of online selling on senior high school
students of College of Arts and Sciences of Asia and the Pacific?

Scope and Delimitation

This study covers the selected senior high school students of College of
Arts and Sciences of Asia and the Pacific. The main objective of this study
is to determine the effects of online selling of selected senior high school
students.

Moreover, this study considered every respondent personal information


and data. Each respondent is given the same questionnaires. All the data
gathered in this study are all true and followed the research code of ethics.
Hypothesis

Online selling has no positive effect on senior high school student of


College of Arts and Sciences of Asia and the Pacific.

Significance of the Study

With the results of this study, the following will certainly be benefited:

Students. To help them know if they are experiencing losing their interest at
school and to help them to be informed about what to do if that situation
happened. This also serves as an eye opener for them.

Parents. This research is significant for the parents to know what their
children are going through and to help them guide and motivate their
children to study more.

Teachers. To give their students who are experiencing this problem,


guidance and advices on how they could cope up with it.

School Administrators. Provide the help they can give to the students who
are experiencing lack of interest on school.
