MODULE 4 ACT 3

Part A: Readings
Once you have familiarized yourself with Spoken Word, answer these questions:

1. What kinds of topics do people discuss in Spoken Word?

About racism and discrimination.

2. What are some important things about the way Spoken Word sounds?
How can you see the various oral strategies (the terms discussed in the
previous activity) coming into effect in this form of oral communication?
Gesture, facial expression, rhythm, volume, tone and word play are
important in spoken word. The tone in the video show aggressive and
mostly on high pitch. Speakers speak in quick pace and high volume in
order to keep audience captivated.

3. What makes you like some examples of Spoken Word more than others?
(Do you like certain examples better because of the topic, the use of
diction/phraseology (word choice), the way they sound, the speaker's
voice or tone, etc.?)
Firstly, the topic. A peculiar or fancy title will attract my attention to watch,
then the speaker’s expression and tone. Using appropriate facial
expression and tone will help express various emotions in the speaker's
performance as well as to the audience.

Part B: Activity Questions

1. Think about a topic that interests you
Tittle: The Love

The last year 2018, I gave up on you,

I choose to let go.
Although,
memory is swirling, swirling round and round, still I choose to let go

I knew you fancy her, I knew you love her, I knew she is prettier than me, smarter than
me, skinny than me and taller than me.
So I let go

Because I let you go, so I had to bite off my tongue and pretending you never exist.
Because I let you go, so I had to move on and show you how better am without you.

The girl you first thought she was fierce,

The girl you never thought she will fall in love on you.
she is, she is, her in first sight.

You never know her really well,

She tries everything to feel loved and accepted.
But you just want to have fun with her,
you broke her heart, so she goes.

She'll never come back again,

She'll never check on you again,
she'll never miss you again,
She’ll never pray for you again,
And She will,
definitely will, meet the one, the right one.

Let me say this for once,

Let me say this for last,
I love you,
I really like you,
So, goodbye.
