1+6] Nodular hyperplasia of prostate.

CLINICAL DETAILS : PSA = 8.5. C/o straining at micturation.

USG : Prostate is enlarged and weighs 90 gms.

TRUS-guided prostatic biopsies :

1] Received 2 grey-white cores measuring 0.5 and 1.5 cm; Right apex biopsy.

2] Received 2 grey-white cores measuring 2 and 2.2 cm; Right mid zone biopsy.
Sections : 2

3] Received 2 grey-white cores measuring 1.8 and 2 cm; Right base biopsy.
Sections : 3

4] Received 2 grey-white cores measuring 2 and 2.5 cm; Left apex biopsy.

5] Received 3 grey-white cores ranging from 0.4 to 2.5 cm; Left mid zone biopsy.
Sections : 5A - 5B

6] Received 3 grey-white tissue cores ranging from 0.5 to 2.1 cm; Left base biopsy.
Sections : 6A - 6B

MICROSCOPY :

1+6] Sections from all the cores of bilateral lobes show hyperplastic prostatic glands and fibromuscular
stroma. Stroma shows chronic inflammation. There is no evidence of malignancy.
