Beyond The Basic Prductivity Tools Lesson
Beyond The Basic Prductivity Tools Lesson
Universal Design for Learning (UDL): The biggest issue I can see is for those with visual impairments as they
may not be able to easily read and keep up with the schedules. Also those with mental and attention
disorders may struggle to keep up with the rigidity of the deadlines as well. This is why they are meant to be
softer deadlines: suggestions.
Lesson idea implementation: Essentially, using a website like Timeglider a teacher would layout for the
students a set of timeframes and deadlines for students to complete longterm assignments and deadlines by
breaking them down into segments. Likewise, students can also create these timelines for themselves in
order to better compliment their own work styles. Students would routinely submit parts of their work for
review on their progress. Such as during the research phase students would simply submit a log of the places
and website that they are searching, as well as provide whatever sources they may think are reliable and
relevant. This is all to to teach students time management and self-efficacy skills.
Reflective Practice: I certainly believe that such a plan would be subject to trial and error. On one hand,
providing students with a structured outline may help teach them to manage and budge their time with long-
term assignements. On the other hand, giving them the freedom of soft-deadlines may, unfortunately,
encourage procrastination.
