RECETS builds strong community ties

RECETS-CvSU-CCAT Campus made another history by engaging students and faculty from Department of Teachers
Education to livelihood training program conducted for the detainees of Tanza Municipal Jail on October 6, 13, and
20, 2017.

In an interview, Mrs. Janet Rodriguez, extension coordinator, expressed belief that the said pioneering activity entitled
“Hatid-Karunungan para sa Kaunlaran Livelihood Training Program” served as an avenue to for the students to
showcase what have they learned in the institution, and to empower the potential and skills of the inmates in food
preparation.

“Naging matagumpay ang event, kitang kita sa mga mata at pasasalamat ng ating mga particpants, isama mo pa ang
meaningful experiences ng mga BSIE students”, she said.

Inmates of Tanza Municipal Jail, Tanza, Cavite, requested the said affair as stipulated in the results of university
assessment to the prisoners.

The first session of the activity was conducted on October 6, 2017.

The first set of BSIE 401 students, Aronda Bediones and Sophia Ann Dela Cruz prepared canape, Gibson Tibuyin and
Christel Joy S. Balangatan demonstrated clubhouse sandwiches, and the team of Jonnalyn Dagale and Arissa Nichole
Rodil discussed preparation of bread roles before the participants.

Another set of pairs of demonstrators discussed the procedures of meat processing products on October 13, 2017.

Nichole Bayhon and Keshian Angon demonstrated chicken tocino, Shienalyn Rosales and Issandra Althea Laguitao
prepared embutido, and Keeshia Angon and Kimberly Anciado discussed puso patty.

The last session on October 20, 2017 taught how to make Palitaw con yema, Tinapa Pasta, and Butchi by Gibson
Tibuyin, Jonard Tipo, Lex Villanueva, Marilyn Tolero, Jennie Rose Cenido, Dennimar Hernandez, and Cherry Rose
Ortiz.

The extension program was headed by Mrs. Janet Rodriguez, Mrs. Francisca Medrano, and Mrs. Elizabeth Legaspi

CvSU-CCAT upholds 4Ps Welding skills


CvSU- CCAT campus posted major accomplishment by engaging Department of Social Welfare and Development
(DSWD) 4Ps beneficiaries in Shielded Metal Arc Welding in a community immersion conducted at Welding and
Fabrication Shop of the university.

Ms. Jona A. Escalante, Mr. Roderick N. Camano, and Mr. Ranie Laboriante served as the lecturer for the following
topics; Personal Protection Equipments, Safety Precautions, Tools Used in Wielding, Horizontal Groove Weld,
Vertical Groove Weld, Flat Groove Weld, First Aid Treatment,Welding Defects, Practicum in Welding, National
Certificate 1 Review n Welding

Officials of CvSU-CCAT campus are optimistic that the said extension program would pave the way for the holistic
development of the participants.

In his message during the program proper of the extension program, Campus administrator, Dr. Jose P. Lisama stated
that the welders are the ones who joined the principles of the people stressing 4Ps meaning as “Pilipino Para sa
Pagpapaunlad ng Pilipinas”.
RECETS tackles responsible parenthood
CvSU-CCAT officials said that the Values Orientation and Reformation program conducted to the residents of Gawad
Kalinga, Ligtong III, Rosario Cavite seeks to strengthen the individual’s spirituality and to inculcate responsible
parenthood before the participants.

In her welcome remarks on February 24, 2018, Research, Extension, Continuing Education and Training Services
(RECETS) director, Prof. Marilou P. Luseco highlighted the responsibilities of all parents in connection to
psychological preparedness, health status, socio cultural and economic concerns while raising their children.

The said activity was participated by 70 female parents and children aged four to 15.

Extension coordinator, Prof. Janet L. Rodriguez discussed the topic on religiousness. She emphasized the importance
of good relationship with God towards becoming responsible parents.

Another topic was presented by Ms Joanna Filosopo from Department of Arts and Sciences. The discussion focussed
on how to maintain good relationship with neighbours in Gawad Kalinga.

Gawad Kalinga President, Mr. Dermin Mirana expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee of the said
program and to the officials of the institution.
