FIELD VISIT TO PANTALOONS

OBJECTIVE:

 To analyse Pantaloons from management’s perspective.

 To understand how the store layout is different for both the branches of Pantaloons in
Dehradun.
 Eligibility criteria of the salesperson in Pantaloons.
 How the salesperson deal during rush hours.

LEARNING:

 We compared the store layout for both the branches and found out that store layout
followed at Pacific Mall is Straight Store Layout. Whereas, store layout followed at
Paramount Tower is Loop Store layout.
 Training & Development: Mr. Rahul Singh (Deputy Manager) and Ms. IteeHazari at
Paramount Tower branch told us that the employees, mostly the salespeople are given
training on the daily basis through shadowing. Training programs are centralized for
both the branches. Every employee is under constant evaluation for performance and
productivity. The HR head through their relevant departmental heads evaluate all
employees.
 Recruitment Process: Mr. Anubhav Bhari from accounts department, at pacific mall
branch, told us that the eligibility criteria for salesperson is that they should have good
communication skills, should have passed at leasthigher secondary school examinations,
and they should be able to deal with customers during rush hours through
multitasking.For executive levels, candidates with a minimum experience in similar work
backgrounds in reputed industries or corporate will be given preference.
 At pacific mall, the activities of the mall also increase the footfall of the store, hence,
during the Saturdays and Sundays the employees have tight schedule, be it salesperson,
cashier, or the security personnel. Especially during the festive season, the number of
customer peaks up.
