Dear Parents and Guardians,
Can you believe it is already
November? We are back into the full
swing of things here at QMS!
FILA: We have been working very hard
learning new grammar rules. The
Grammaire Personnelle is a useful tool that
the students can use in any of their classes
to help them with writing in French. The
beginning of October, we started silent
reading (in French) during Homeroom. I
encourage the students to read more
French books at home.
SC.HUMS: This past month the Social
Studies classes were invested in the
Federal Election. We learned all about the
different orders of government, how to
double check if our sources are credible,
researched the main political parties, and
even got to vote! For our riding, the students
voted in James Tolen from the NDP.
PIF: There has been a lot of participation
from all classes during Post-Intensive
French. The students have been excelling
at “La routine du jour.” We have started to
create some writing pieces.
PDCP: We are learning some cool facts
about the brain and why it is important to
understand how it functions. Ask your
middle school student about fixed and
growth mindsets!

Reminders
EACH FRIDAY in FILA we have a spelling test. The
students write their weekly words in their agendas at
the beginning of every week.
QMS Website: Please take the time to check out the
QMS website for our updated policies for the year,
including our cell phone policy, and the Attendance
Matters initiative. Don’t forget there is also a detailed
cafeteria menu provided on the website, along with
updates regarding our extracurricular activities.
Student Contract: Please remind your middle
school students that when in French class they are
to speak FRENCH.
Report Cards: Report cards will be handed out
November 18.
Parent Teacher: Please book parent teacher
meetings online. They will be held Thursday,
November 21 from 4:00-7:00 and Friday November
22, 9:00-11:30
