 Baybayin- the early Filipinos have Tagalog script, with each symbol representing a syllable.

It consisted of three vowels and 14 consonants, with a total of 17 letters.

 Alibata- the term Alibata was derived from the first two letters of the Maguindanaoan alphabet
“alif” and “bet”.
 The writing system of early Filipinos was horizontal, from left to right.
 The writing instrument used was a sharp pointed iron locally known as sipol.
