I wish to express my sincere gratitude to Management of Liberty
Shoes Limited for providing me an opportunity to do my Industrial
Visit Project work.
I express my sincere gratitude to Mr. Amit Gupta,
H.O.D.(Department of MBA,MAIT) for putting his best effort to
make this Industrial Visit happen and providing his valuable
suggestions.
I also extend my sincere appreciation to Mr. Nitin Walia and Mrs.
Anju Bharti (Our Class Coordinators) for their guidance and
encouragement in carrying out this project work.
I also thank to my parents for their support and my friends with whom
I shared my experience and received lots of suggestions that

ABOUT
Liberty Shoes Limited (LSL) is an Indian shoe company, based
in Karnal, Haryana, established in 1954. It was founded by Dharam
Pal Gupta, Purshotam Das Gupta and Rajkumar Bansal by the name
of Pal Boot House. The company was incorporated on 3 September
1986 as a Public Limited Company and obtained the Certificate of
Commencement of Business on 11 March 1988. The company has
been set up to manufacture and sell leather and non-leather shoes,
leather shoe uppers and leather garments. Presently, the company is
engaged in the manufacturing of leather and non-leather shoes. They
started their journey by manufacturing 4 pairs a day. Now, they
produces 50,000 footwear a day through its six manufacturing units,
sold through 6,000 multi-brand outlets and 350 exclusive showrooms,
and has a presence in 25 countries, with 50 showrooms outside India.
Adesh Gupta is CEO of LSL. They have set their eyes on opening
1,000 exclusive showrooms in India and abroad, and to be closer to
Rs.1,000 crore company vision.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT SUMMARY

Department of MBA, MAIT managed an industrial visit to LIBERTY


SHOES LTD., Karnal, Haryana on Feb 16, 2019 for a batch of 120
students divided in two equal batches We are accompanied by Mr.
Nitin Walia and Mrs Anju Bharti (Our Class Coordinators).
In industry premises, we were accompanied by Development
Manager, LSL who told us about every activities happening in the
plant. He explained each and every thing, which we were seeing.
First we went to manufacturing section, there was division for every
work. There some people are working on fabric cutting, some are in
sewing, some making sole, some pasting sole to fabric. These all
process are in sequence to reduce time and cost.
He told they have six manufacturing base facilities spread across the
numerous states, two in Gharaunda and Liberty Puram (Haryana)
where its primary and the largest manufacturing units are
situated, Paonta Sahib, (Himachal Pradesh) with two units. They have
line managers and further activity manager. They purchase their
fabric from vendors in Delhi. We have low wastage of materials.
Every employee had been given a target to accomplish. They have
their own cardboard manufacturing in Delhi of packaging.
They have heavy and costly machines which help in manufacturing
shoes, chappal, etc. After manufacturing, all products are reviewed
and then sent for packaging and distribution. They told they have
three distribution networks- their own showroom, franchisee
showroom and e-marketing.
They are providing accommodations and bus services at very nominal
charges to their employees and employees are awarded for their best
performances.
