In application for foundation piles, however, this Standard is only applicable to welded steel tubes of outside diameter under 318.5 mm, and in application for piles for landslide suppression, to seamless steel tubes and welded steel tubes of outside diameter under 318.5 mm”. The dimensional range covered by this Standard is generally outside diameter 21.7 mm to 1016.0 mm. NOTE : To piles for landslide suppression of centrifugally cast steel tubes, JIS G 5201 is applied. Note " To foundation piles and piles for landslide suppression of welded steel tube of outside diameter 318.5 mm or larger, JIS A 5525 is applied. 2 Normative references ‘The following standards contain provisions which, through reference in this text, constitute provisions of this Standard. For the tensile test of tubes of wall thickness under 8 mm performed using No.12 or No.5 test piece, the minimum value of elongation shall be obtained by reducing 1.5 mm per 1 mm decrease in wall thickness from the elongation value in table 4 and rounding off to the whole number according to Rule A in JIS Z 8401. The obtained value shall conform to table 5. 6.3 Flattening The flattening shall be applied to seamless steel tubes, electric resistance welded steel tubes or butt welded steel tubes. The tubes shall be tested in accordance with 9.2.4, and the test piece shall be free from flaws or cracks. In this case, the distance between the plates shall be in accordance with table 3. 6.4 Bendabllity The purchaser may specify the bendability instead of flattening for the tubes 50mm or under in outside diameter. Al Type of coating and coating mass ‘The type of coating and coating mass applied should be as follows: a) The coating should be one of the following 5 types: hot-dip zinc-coating, electrolytic zine-coating, hot-dip aluminium-coating, hot-dip zine 5 % aluminium alloy- coating and hot-dip 65 % aluminium-zine alloy-coating. When applying equivalent thickness coating, the coating mass as specified in JIS G 3802, JIS G 8813, JIS G 3314, JIS G 3317 and JIS G 8321 is applied. b) For the coating by hot-dip zinc-coating and hot-dip 55 % aluminium-zine alloy- coating, the coating mass may be different between the front and rear surfaces Of the etec! sheet or steel strip (differential thickness coating). In this case, the following conditions should be satisfied: 1) The minimum coating mass on the outside surface of a tube should be 30 g/m? or over for the triple-spot average minimum coating mass and 26 wim? or over for single-spot minimum coating mass, in the case of hot-dip zine-coating, and should be 35 g/m? or over for the triple-spot average tainimam coating mass and 30 g/m? or over for the single-spot minimum coating mass, in the case of the hot-dip 55 % aluminium-zine alloy-coating. Note » See 5.2.2 of JIS G 3302. 2) The minimum coating mass of the inside surface of a tube should be 30 g/m? or over for the triple-spot average minimum coating mass and 26 g/m? or over for the single-spot minimum coating mass, for both cases of hot-dip tine-coating and hot-dip 56 % aluminium-zine alloy-coating ©) Other coating. The type of coating applied may be hot-dip coating or electrolytic Coating other than a) according to the agreement between the manufacturer and the purchaser. In this case, the following conditions should be satisfied: 1) The minimum coating mass of the hot-dip coating, which is a total of both gurfaces, should be normally 60 g/m? or over for triple-spot average minimum coating mave and 51 g/m? or over for single-spot minimum coating mass. The sninimam coating mass of electrolytic coating, which is a one-surface coating ‘mass, should be 8.5 g/m? or over for the equivalent thickness coating and 8 zim? or over for differential thickness coating PROTECTED BY COPYRIGHT Errata for JIS (English edition) are printed in Standerdization and Quality Control, published ‘monthly by the Japanese Standards Association, and also provided to subscribers of JIS ( lish edition) in Monthly Information Brrata will be provided upon request, please contact ‘Standards Publishing Department, Japanese Standards Association 41-24, Akasaka, Minato-ku, Tokyo, 107-8440 JAPAN.
