9. Objectives The objectives of this course are to:
1. Explain on multimedia applications, classification and multimedia
components
2. Show ways to calculate compression ratio by using various techniques
pose on how RAID works.

At the end of the course, students are able to:
LO1:define types of multimedia applications, technologies and elements.
LO2:perform different types of compression techniques.
LO3:list and explain the different level of RAID during group discussions.
LO4:state the network components which are used in the networked multimedia.

In this course, students will be introduced to principles and current technologies of multimedia systems. Issues in effectively
representing, processing, and retrieving multimedia data such as sound and music, graphics, image and video will be
addressed. It also introduces several different compression techniques.
