Hello Dear’s Friends In this article we are going to tell you that what is lean concrete,
normal concrete and rich concrete. This article explains what is lean concrete, normal
concrete and rich concrete.

Definition of lean concrete, normal concrete and rich concrete.

What is Lean Concrete.


If the concrete contains cement content less than ten percentage then it is called
as lean concrete.For example concrete mix 1: 4:8 and 1:6:12 which has cement
content of approximately 7 percentage and 5 percentage respectively.
Concrete with a low cement material. The main function of lean concrete is to provide
the surface of the uniform for the foundation concrete and to prevent direct contact of
the foundation concrete from the soil. Used under the Lean Concrete Foundation.

What is Normal Concrete.
Lean concrete is commonly used to even the uneven floor foundation or surface of
walls. If the concrete contains cement content more than 10 percentage and less than
15 percentage it is called as normal concrete. For example concrete mix 1:2:4 is a
normal concrete which has cement content of approximately 14 percentage.
What is Rich Concrete.
Normal concrete is generally used in RCC PCC and floor finishes. If the concrete
contains cement Content more than 15 percentage then it is called as rich concrete.
For example concrete mix 1:1/2:3 is a rich concrete which has cement content of
approximately 18 percentage.

Rich concrete is used in RCC where the smaller structural members are made to
support heavier loads for architectural reasons.
