How To Use A Mockup Template
PSD mockup/template files are the best way to present own work to your client in best realistic style.
Mockups files contain Solid color layers for easily changing the color of objects. Mockups files contain Smart
Objects layers to place design, text, logo or pattern on objects.
Opening a ZIP file can easily be done with the unzip software (example 7-Zip is open source software,
https://www.7-zip.org).
- PSD file of the mockup, which is the source file you will edit
- PNG file with the blank objects (non-color) on the transparent background
Optionally:
- PSD files with different backgrounds (wooden backgrounds, white studio and etc)
*Note: In the PSD file, visibility of some layers can be turned off to reduce the size of the file in the ZIP archive.
The next step is to locate the Solid color layers. In PSD mockup file these layers allow you to change
the color of the object.
Double click on the layer whose color you want to change and pick the color from pallet.
The new color will be displayed on the object.
You can change the color of objects part separately using Solid color layers.
Step #3 Place your content
The next step is to locate the Smart Object layers. In PSD mockup file these layers allow you to place
design, text, logo or pattern on objects.
Double click on the layer whose design you want to change. New window will open where you can put
your design, text, logo or pattern.
After you added your design, text, logo or pattern and turn off layer with the grid you have to close this
file and hit the save button.
You have the object with own design for three simple steps.
