TEACHING October 28, 2019
LESSON
DATE & STEM C 7:30AM-8:30AM QUARTER 2ND
PLAN
TIME

I. OBJECTIVES
The learners demonstrate an understanding of:
A. Content Standards 1. the postulates of the cell theory, specifically students will be able to identify
the significant persons and their contributions that led to the cell theory.
The learners:
B. Performance Standards 1. Illustrate the cell theory by creating a cell theory concept map which
explains the relationship between cells and living things
C. Learning Competencies/ The learners:
Objectives. Write the LC 1. Explain the postulates of the cell theory
code. STEM_BIO11/12-Ia-c-1
II. CONTENT CELL THEORY
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References
1) Teacher’s Guide pages
2) Learner’s Material pages 15-20 pages
3) Text Book Biology 1
4) Additional Materials Internet
from Learning Resource
(LR) portal
B. Other Learning Resources
IV.PREPARATION  Prayer
 Checking of attendance
 Check the cleanliness of the classroom
 Review of the past lesson
V.DEVELOPMENT OF THE LESSON
MOTIVATION The teacher will present a diagram on the different characteristics of living
organism and then putting emphasis cellular organization. (cells-tissues-
organs-organ system-organism)
A. ACTIVITY The class will be divided into two groups. Each group will assign reporter for
the output. The teacher will then present the cell theory by enumerating the
postulates. She will also present the people behind the theory and their
significant contributions. The groups will be instructed to match/fit the
postulate with the person and his concept. The activity will be done for 5 mins.
B. ANALYSIS After the activity, the output will be presented in front of the class. Each group
will try to explain and defend their answer on how the contribution of the
concept led to the specific postulate.
C. ABSTRACTION Cell Theory is one of the basic principles of biology. Credit for the
formulation of this theory is given to German scientists Theodor Schwann
(1810–1822), Matthias Schleiden (1804–1881), and Rudolph Virchow (1821–
1902).
The Cell Theory states:

 All living organisms are composed of cells. They may be unicellular

or multicellular.
 The cell is the basic unit of life.
 Cells arise from pre-existing cells. (They are not derived
from spontaneous generation.
