    ASSIGNMENT 2 – RESTRAINED BEAM DESIGN

    DUE DATE: 11TH MARCH 2019 (11AM)

    A typical floor plan for an office multi-storey steel frame building is shown below. The floor is a
    concrete slab with 150 mm thickness, and finishing with ceramic floor tiles. All joints in the
    steel frame are of simple connections.

    Design beams HJ and JM in accordance to Limit State Design based on BS EN 1993. The
    proposed beam size of 457 x 152 x 82 UB S355.

    At the end of your design, make a technical design summary.


    The technical design summary should include the following information:
    1. All loads considered and their breakdown.
    2. Beams that have been designed and adopted sizes
    3. Comments on size adopted.
