Semi- detailed Lesson Plan in English 10

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
1. Read the poem entitled “A Martian sends a postcard home”.
2. Identify the images appeared in the poem.
3. Create an own description of a thing.
4. Give appreciation on how things are being described in a poem.

II. Subject Matter

Topic : A Martian sends a postcard home

Materials : filth-pen and manila paper

III. Procedure
A. Preliminaries
 Prayer
 Checking of attendance

B. Motivation
 There will be four groups.
 The teacher will read a riddle.
 Each member of the group should stand if they want to answer
the riddle.
 The group member who can first stand will have the chance to
anwser.
 The group who got the highest score will be the winner.
 Until I am measured, I am not known. Yet how you
miss me, When I have flown.---- TIME
 You can you catch it but cannot throw it ? -----COLD
 It has a thumb and four fingers but is not alive?
---- A GLOVE.
 What has to be broken before you can use it? ------AN
EGG.
 What has a neck but no head? ---- A BOTTLE.

C. Lesson Proper
 The teacher will let the students read the poem.
 They are only given 5 minutes.
 After that the teacher will ask questions to them.

D. Application

 The same group.


 Each group will be given manila paper and filth-pen.
 They will create their own description of an animal based on the
category given by the teacher by group.
 They are given five minutes to do it.
 Each member of the group will read their output.
 They will let the other group guess the things being described.

IV. Evaluation
Read and understand the questions. Write your answers in a ½ sheet
of paper.
1. What is the first object that the Martian described?
2. What other objects were described by the Martians?
3. How different does the Martian see the objects? Cite some lines from the
text to prove your answer.

V. Assignment
 Create a short paragraph about anything. Use descriptive words
and use your creativity.
