GEOPHYSICAL INFORMATION

A. LOCATION

Barangay Abella is classified as an Urban Area. It is bounded in the North by


Barangay Sta. Cruz, in the South, by Barangay Igualdad and Sabang, in the East
by Barangay Dinaga and in the West by the Municipality of Camaligan.

B. TOPOGRAPHY

The total land area of Barangay Abella is 0.22 sq. km. or 0.29% of the total
land area of Naga City. It is entirely plain.

C. LAND USE

The commercial area occupies the majority land area of Barangay Abella
with .14 square kilometer or 64% of it’s total land use and the remaining .08
square kilometer or 36% occupies the residential area.

D. HYDROGRAPHY

There are no waterway in the area.

E. MEANS OF ACCESS

The barangay is accessible to all kinds of vehicles. This can be reach through
pedicab, tricycle, multi -cab and the traditionally known "kalesa" and other mode
of transportation.

B. HOUSEHOLD

The total number of household as of 1998 is 1,257 an average of 6persons per


household.

C. SETTLEMENT AND HOUSING DATA

The Community Multi-Sectoral Assembly that was conducted last September 1998 shows
that the out of 1,002 total number of househ old 309 or 31% are two storey or multi
storey, 99 or 10% are split level and the remaining 594 or 59% are single storey.
Moreover in building resistance 279 or 28% are in High Risk with light materials, 203 or
20% are in Medium Risk with Semi -concrete buil ding with G.I. Roofing, 267 or 27% are
in Low Risk with Concrete frame with G.I. Roof and Walls and the remaining 253 or 25%
are No Risk.

E. GENDER DEVELOPMENT

Barangay Abella has a minimal discrepancy in numbers between Male and Female
population. The later has 3,719 individuals while male has 3,823, having a difference of
104 in number or 2.72 % in percentage. The number and percentage of female in the
Barangay Governance is 3 or 27.27 % .

Agents, Transportation Operators, Wholesalers and Retailers.

C. COMMERCIAL

There are 191 Commercial Establishments present in Barangay Abella. This includes:
Appliance Centers, Auto and Electric Supplier, Banks, Barber Shop, Beauty Parlor, Boarding
House, Book Center, Computer Centers, Disco, Drug House, Eateries, General Merchan dise,
Grocery Store, Hardware, Hotel, Insurance Company, Jewelry Shops, Medical Laboratory,
Pawnshops, Printing Press, Recreation and Amusement Center, Restaurants, Sari -Sari
Store, Security Agency and Watch Repair Shop.

These commercial establishments con tributed a total annual tax due of 3,296,763.69 to
the City's budget. The Establishment that has the minimum annual tax due amounting to
200.00 and the maximum annual tax due that the City received is 1,305,309.96 from 2
Restaurants. The City is gaining a gross sales of 1,487,839,66.00 computed annually.
