F​ACTS​ A​BOUT​ T​HE​ S​CHOOL Name: EP N° 102 “Benito Lynch”

Type of school: It is a state-run, primary school

Built in: 1983

Situated at 1258 Torquinst Street between Ramón

Lista and Del Colegio Streets in Rafael Castillo City.

Number of students attending the school: approximately

260 students.

S​URROUNDINGS​ LOCATION: It is situated in a low-class neighbourhood.

NEARBY: There are shops, bus stops and modest houses.

ACCESS TO SCHOOL: Most of the students live near the school

and get to it on foot but some of them get to school by car.

B​UILDING It is an old, big and traditional school.

F​AÇADE It is an old, clean, tidy and well-painted school. The walls are painted in white

and the main door in light-blue.


I​NSIDE There is a big, comfortable and traditional headmaster’s office on the right.

There is a small, clean and tidy corridor on the right.

There are ten comfortable and traditional classrooms on both sides of the

corridor. There is a big clean kitchen on the left. There are two spacious patios, one of

them is roofed. There are two restrooms

C​LASSROOMS

The classrooms are big enough, airy and well-lit with two huge windows each. They are

painted in soft colour and decorated with posters from other subjects.

There are thirteen desks and twenty six chairs in each classroom. They have two fans

hanging from the ceiling, a heater and a cupboard which is at the back and the teacher`s

desk is in front.

G​ENERAL​ I​MPRESSION​ Most of the time there is an organized, noisy but respectful and a

good learning environment.

S​TUDENTS are well-behaved and talkative.

Topic​: Birthday parties

Final Task​: The teacher will divide students into 6 groups of 4. Each group will have to

decide, design and draw a new menu for the Paul´s birthday in a poster that will be pin up

on the walls of the patio of the school. They will have to take into account all the guests

likes to create the menu. When they have finished, they will have to show their draws to

the rest and after all the groups presentations the class will have to choose what menu do

they like most.

Aims​:

· Fomentar el desarrollo de un pensamiento crítico y reflexivo en los niños.

· Dar lugar a que los niños, en contextos conocidos y didácticamente adecuados,

vayan participando en inglés, en la medida de sus posibilidades (interlengua),

aproximándose cada vez más a expresiones convencionalmente aceptadas y

comprensibles.

· Estimular y fomentar la creatividad y la imaginación en los niños a través de

prácticas de enseñanza que mantengan su interés y despierten su curiosidad.


· Generar un contexto de enseñanza que permita a los niños construir y operar con

el conocimiento de la lengua extranjera.

· Estimular la participación activa de los alumnos incluyendo distintas estrategias

metodológicas de acercamiento a la lengua extranjera.

Ciencias Naturales: el tema de la unidad se relaciona con las Ciencias Naturales debido a

que se trabaja con los distintos alimentos y se ve la importancia de estar bien alimentado

Lengua: Podemos establecer un enlace con el formato de nuestra presentación ya que

pensamos usar una historieta y en la clase de lengua están acostumbrados a tener

sesiones de lectura por lo cual el formato les va a resultar conocido
