1. INTRODUCTION
EXAMPLE 1:

Where,
Building Name is “A” for ‘Blok A’, “B” for ‘Blok B’, etc.
Building Level is “1” for Level 1, “2” for Level 2, “3” for Level 3, etc.

The Switches within the Network System are named and labeled
according to a specific Labeling convention that allows easy
identification of the equipment including type and location.

Where,
Building Name is “A” for ‘Blok A’, “B” for ‘Blok B’, etc.
Building Level is “0” for Ground Level, “1” for Level 1, “2” for Level 2,

Switch Number in Rack is “1” for the 1st switch in that rack.
The DATA and VOICE outlets are named and labeled according to a
specific Labeling convention that allows easy identification of the
structured cabling including type and location.

Ports on the UTP Patch Panel in the same rack shall be labeled
continuously, in sequence. E.g.: If UTP Patch Panel #1 has port
numbers 1 to 24, then UTP Patch Panel #2 shall use port numbers 25
to 48 and so on.
UTP Patch Cord in the same rack shall be labeled continuously at both
end, in sequence. E.g.: If UTP Patch Cords on Patch Panel #1 has
patch cord numbers 1 to 24, then UTP Patch Cords on Patch Panel #2
shall use numbers 25 to 48 and so on.
Label holder shall be made of durable plastic and can be safely tied to
the cable.

All fiber port shall be of SC type connector. The top part of the ports
shall be labeled with the Building|Level. Rack Number where the fibre
cable originates from and shall be labeled in pairs. For example: if the
fibre cable on ports 1-2 and 3-4 originates from TCR/IT Room, Level 1,
‘A’ Block, then the top part shall be labeled “A1.1”.
The bottom part of the ports on the Fibre Patch Panel in the same rack
shall be labeled continuously, in sequence. E.g.: If Fibre Patch Panel
#1 has port numbers 1 to 12, then Fibre Patch Panel #2 shall use port
numbers 13 to 24 and so on.
Fibre Patch Cord in the same rack shall be labeled continuously at both
end, in sequence. E.g.: If Fibre Patch Cords on Patch Panel #1 has
patch cord numbers 1 to 12, then Fibre Patch Cords on Patch Panel #2
shall use numbers 13 to 24 and so on.
Label holder shall be made of durable plastic and can be safely tied to
the cable.
