Population density and environmental degradation are both variables that can be quantifiable but the
study’s description does not state anything about the variables being altered, tested nor compared to,
hence, descriptive.

10. Experimental

The researcher must control the location of one setup to observe the changes in order to reach a
conclusion.

8. Narrative

Discrimination is a variable that is subjective and cannot be computed therefore it is a qualitative. The
description implies that there will be no computing, comparing and testing of other variables, only
stating/narrating discriminatory immigration policies.
