WHAT: Kendrick Fincher Hydration for Life Foundation will hold its annual Beat the Heat
Summer Swing Golf Tournament to encourage hydration when engaging in
outdoor activities. The cost is $400 for a four-person team. Teams can register
online at kenrickfincher.org. There will be lunch and dinner provided.
WHY: On Aug. 7, 1995, Rhonda Fincher’s son, Kendrick, died after experiencing a heat
stroke on his first day of football practice. Since its founding, the Kendrick
Fincher Hydration for Life Foundation has hosted many events to raise
awareness and educate people on the importance of heat illness prevention. The
foundation’s goal to reduce the number of hear-related deaths and injuries by
educating others on proper hydration techniques. For more info, visit

MEDIA INSTRUCTIONS:
There will be a silent auction table in the clubhouse, containing autographed
University of Arkansas and Dallas Cowboy memorabilia. Teams will warm up on
the course driving range and putting greens at noon. Chad Morris, Ryan Mallett
and Rhonda Fincher will be available for interviews at the first hole tee box at
12:30 p.m. The threesome will then hit the ceremonial tee shots at the first hole
tee box at 1 p.m.
