Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of how world literature and other
text types serve as instruments to resolve social conflicts, also how to use the language of
research, campaigns and advocacies.
Learning Competency:
At the end of the lesson, the students must be able to:

Activity: What am I?
Students read the clues and then draw a conclusion as to what the secret object is.
1. I have stripes, I need water, I eat other animals, I can be found in the zoo, I have legs.
2. I am small, I can ruin your day, I fall from the sky, I am not alive, I move without legs.
3. Put me on your feet. I will keep you warm and dry. Wear me when it rains.
4. "It's my favorite place!" Stephen said. "I love to go there. My friends are there. I do fun
things there. I even learn new things there. It makes me sad in the summer. I don't go
there then."
5. Donnie loved his new one. It had two snaps on the side. There was even a leather handle
like his dad's! It would be nice to take to Grandma's to spend a weekend. It would be
great for camping, too.
Analysis
How were you able to identify the object being described in each sentence? It is through
the clues given. By reading the clues, you are able to draw conclusion as to what the object is.
Drawing conclusions is using information that is implied to make meaning out of what is
not clearly stated. It is a reading strategy that is used to figure out information that is not directly
stated in a text, and thus when developed as a skill, one can have a deeper understanding of a
text. How to draw conclusion?

Jeff filled up a big bowl with fresh, cold water and set in on the floor. He brought out a big comforter
and put it on the floor next to the low window. He opened the package, took out a big bone and placed it on
the floor next to the comforter. Then he opened the window so that the gentle breeze could blow into the
room.
