A. Preliminary Activities

2. Unlocking of Difficulties

PHONETICS- studies speech sounds


PHONOLOGY- studies the sound system of language
MORPHOLOGY- studies the formation of words from similar units
called morphemes
SYNTAX- rules that govern the formation of sentences from words.
PRAGMATICS- study of meaning in context

Ask: What thoughts about language run through your mind?

4. Motivation:

Ask: What are the three top most spoken language in the world?

B. Developmental Lesson

Ask:

d. What are the core branches of linguistics?

3. Concept Formation
What are the branches of linguistics? (Let the students give and explain
any of the five branches of linguistics)
