1 Problem Statement

Since the exchange of currencies cannot be simultaneous due to time

differences, each party is at risk for the time period between the two
settlements..
Different countries use different currency, and there is daily variation in
these currencies relative to one another. Those who transfer money from
one country to another (one currency to another) must be updated with
the latest currency exchange rates in the market.Currency converter
project is built keeping this thing in mind. It is simply a calculator-like
app. In this application, there is regular update about currency of every
country by which it displays present currency market value and
conversion rate.Such application can be used by any user, but it is
mainly useful for business, shares, and finance related areas where
money transfer and currency exchange takes place on a daily basis. In
this currency converter app, users are provided with an option to select
the type of conversion, i.e. from “this” currency to “that” currency. This
simple feature allows users to enter amount to be converted (say
currency in Dollars), and display the converted amount (say currency in
Euro).

In order to overcome such problems we have to build an application and

this is the goal to our project

2 Objectives

Major objectives are given below

* Easy calculator with results in local currencies

* Convert multiple currencies at once

3 Literature Review
The earlier Islamic nation was very much concerned with the spread of the Arabic
language. The linguistics sciences then in turn has come around to preserve and
safeguard the Arabic language from errors and distortions by describing its
linguistics theoretical concepts . El-Khalil bin Ahmed Al-Farahidi commonly known as
Al-Farahidi or simply Al-Khalīl, was one of the earliest Arab lexicographers and
philologists. His best known contributions are Kitab-al-Ayn regarded as the first
dictionary of the Arabic language [2].
Nowadays the use of computer and its applications have become an integral part

of the modern societies‟ life. Changes within the different aspects of life happening
rapidly and it is the duty of every society to keep up with the information era [3].
Learning through multimedia is becoming the focus of researchers in computer-
assisted language learning in order to enhance the effectiveness of learning process.
The term “multimedia learning‟ can be defined as the presentation of material
using both words and pictures [4]. In addition, Mayer and Mereno found that the
learner’s understanding while watching animated images of a certain phenomenon
(the lightning phenomenon) accompanied with an auditory explanation is much better
than the learner’s understanding of the similar animated images while verbally reading
an onscreen-text explanation [5].
The acquisition of a foreign language or any language is a process that is
extremely complex because of its relation to cognitive, cultural and psychological
factors. With the growing interest in teaching foreign languages specially the
Arabic language, concerned institutions start to take an interest in this field by
developing various learning aids such as readable books, audio tapes, CDs or
specialized sites on the internet Widely used courses to teach the Arabic language
to non-native speakers are given below.
The Arabic language book for the youth (‫[ )كتاب العربيه للناشئين‬6]
The book handles ten major educational topics that reflect the interest and love
of the youth with a goal for the students to learn the language structures and
vocabularies. These topics are presented through 30 conversational texts and 8
reading texts that contain 110 of the basic structures of the Arabic grammar
and 445 of the vocabularies and real expressions. The topics include a Systematic
and continuous study that spreads the spirit of joy and happiness among students and
allows them a chance to express their ideas and interests in Arabic as they would
express it in their native language.
The series of “I love Arabic” (‫[ )سلسلة احب العربية‬9]
These series are composed of four stages, each stage consisting of a book for the
student, a book of exercises, a book for the teacher, with a number of audio recording
aids and visual aids to be used with the book including cue cards, paintings, records
and a manual for the teacher. Its approach enables the learner to practice the
four skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) equally and provides training
of the language elements such as phonemes, vocabularies and structures. The
series‟ topics are based on the Arabic Islamic culture and the world cultures and it is
also concerned with the child’s world and his interests such as: hobbies, play time, life
at home and school, relationships with relatives, friends and neighbors; it discusses
the world of animals and plants, and the external universe through various modes
such as in conversations, stories, songs, narrations, linguistic games, and
meaningful entertainment to state the etiquette and basic scientific facts. The series
contains approximately 1500 words spread across the four levels; the basic Arabic
vocabularies are concentrated in the first two books also containing the Arabic
phonetic system with all its different phenomena.

The series of teaching Arabic for the non-native speakers (‫للناطقين بغيرها‬
‫[ ) سلسلة تعليم اللغة العربيه‬10]
This series is published under the supervision of the institution for Arabic language
education in the Islamic university of Imam Muhammad bin Saud; this series is
considered as a complete course to teach Arabic and the concepts of the Islamic
science. More than fifty teachers, experts and specialists have contributed in
writing this series composing of a definitional introduction and thirty seven texts

for the learner with five manuals for the teachers and eight lexicons. This series
is an encyclopedic work involving a big team of specialists. The book is made up of
levels beginning from the primary introduction of the language and its letters to
the linguistics descriptions. The book aimed to qualify the learner to join Arabic
universities in studying the Islamic law “sharia‟, Arabic language, and the
literature.

The Arabic language in your hands (‫[ )الغربية بين يديك‬11]

This series come in seven books; three of them meant for students in three
varying levels; beginner, intermediate, and advanced. This series too does not ignore
the teacher’s role so that it includes three books containing the structures and
guidelines in teaching language for the non-native speakers. The seventh book is,
however, considered as the lexicon of vocabularies used in the book with an addition
of about eight hours of phonetic appendix for each of the student three books.

In 1998 a website www.understandquran.com was launched which provide an easy

way of understanding Quran. In 2000 a booklet was published consisting of 80% of
words of Quran and also a booklet on grammars. In 2004 a book of 60 lessons was
published. In 2005 Dr. Abdur Rahim Abdul Aziz offer an online course and 4000 people
of 50 different countries beneficiary from it [1]. The course consist of two levels level1
and level2. In level1 you will learn approximately 125 new words that occur in the
Qur’an more than 40,000 times. In level2 you will learn an additional 125 words that
occur in the Qur’an more than 15,000 times. Each level can be taught in 10 hours.
Therefore, 70% of the Qur’anic words can be learned in 20 hours of teaching! After
taking this course, the understanding of the Qur’an becomes extremely easy. As a
result in a typical line of the Qur’an, you may need to know only two or three new words
[1].
In 2011 Mufti Abu Lubaba Shah Mansoor published a book consist of three levels.
After completing that course one will be able to understand 90% of the Quran.

4 Methodology for Implementation of Project

The concepts we will use are:

NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming), Neuro stands for nerves system means what is
actually in your mind. We are getting the information using five senses. The information
that we are getting are pictures, sounds, feelings, smell and taste. Linguistic means
language or communication this includes both verbal and non-verbal communication.
Programming refer to those pattern of thinking or behavior that we are processing in
the mind during communication. By nature the human brain is responding very quickly
either it is desirable or not but just respond, using NLP what we are doing is to re-
program human mind and respond effectively.
Using HCI (Human computer Interaction) principle to make the application efficient
and easy to use. Computer and human are two different species to make the
interaction between these two species easy HCI is a bridge between these two.
TPI (total physical interaction) means that using all your senses i.e. you hear it, see
it, think over it, say it, and show it practically by doing yourself.
The tools required are:
 Android Studio (for technical development).

 Photoshop (for designing).

 Sound Recorder Software (to record sound for each word).
 Visio Professional(for system architecture and system flow diagrams)
The application consist of three module each module consist of 20 lessons. Each
lesson has four parts recap of previous lesson, new lesson, examples from Quran,
motivational tips. The total words in the Holy Quran are 4500 without repetition, with
repetition the total words are 78000. In module1 you will learn 26449 words. In
module2 you will learn 15729 words.

5 Utilization of Project Results

After successful completion of this app, we will get an application which will be user
friendly and animated so that user can easily learn the Quran with meaning. The user
will understand at least 70% of holy Quran. They will be attentive in offering the prayer
and they will be fond of reciting Quran. The understanding of Quran will make the
affairs of the person good and right. We will practice the app first on our self and then
on student of different school and colleges. We will upload the app on Google play
store and check user review that whether the app is helpful or not.
