The first concern in designing equipment placement is the Dental Unit. This tool
is not a static chair but can be lowered and raised-down. At the time of long position
Dental Unit is about 1.8-2 Meter. Behind the Dental Unit requires a space of 1 Meter for
Operator's Zone and Static Zone, therefore the ideal distance between the lower end of
the Dental Unit with the back wall or the Dental Cabinet placed behind is 3 Meters; while
the distance between the lower end of the Dental Unit with the front wall is at least 0.5
Meters. Dental Unit generally has a width of 0.9 Meters, when the Tray is in open
condition then the overall width is generally 1.5 Cm. Distance from each side of at least
0.8 Meters for movement in Operator's Zone and Asistant's Zone. Mobile Cabinet as a
place to store materials and tools that will be used at the time of care placed in Static
Zone. This zone will not be visible to the patient and is located within the Operator's
Zone and Assistant Zone so that both Dentist and Dentist will easily pick up the
necessary materials and tools in care When the Mobile Cabinet is more than one, the
second Mobile Cabinet is placed at the Operator's Zone.
The last major tool in the Treatment Room is Dental Cabinet as the main storage
of materials and dentistry equipment. Generally shaped like a half body bufet Kitchen
Cabinet with a thickness of 0.6 to 0.8 Meters. If only one side, this cabinet is placed in
Static Zone, whereas if it is L-shaped, placed in Static Zone and Assistant's Zone. The
existence of Dental Cabinet will increase the space required to place it

Ergonomics becomes the basis in layout design placement of dentistry tools, all aiming for the
entire area of the room utilized well and create a sense of comfort to operators who work and
