INTRODUCTION

The Analytique isa French Beaux Arts Tradition that allows Architects to understand the role of
details in their designs. Details are what makes design great and more often than not, details are
left for later when there is more develop the design. What is not understood by a lot of students
(and practitioners) is that these details are the generator of the character of the building. The
analytique is the manner in which details are presented in conjunction with the overall design. The
Analytique incorporates the details in the plans, elevations and sections of the design. These details
show a greater level of design thought that emphasize the depth and breadth of the designer’s
ability.
