the title.

The text of the abstract should include all of the following:

• Purpose of study
• Methodology, including study design and analyses
• Summary of results
• Conclusions

Please Note: This Abstract is not necessarily the same as the Abstract that you are required
to submit as a part of your Final Thesis (due in Week 11). The purpose of this Abstract
submission is to compile the summaries of all the Projects to be presented in Week 10
(Research Thesis Seminar Presentation) for distribution to all Seminar attendees (staff and
students in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering as well as friends and family).

Formatting:
• There is a strict maximum word limit of 300 words.
• No equations, formulas or tables are permitted.

IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED THAT YOU DRAFT AND FINALISE THE TEXT OF YOUR
ABSTRACT IN MSWORD (OR ANY OTHER SUITABLE TEXT EDITOR). ONCE YOU AND YOUR
SUPERVISOR(S) ARE HAPPY WITH IT, AS THE VERY FINAL STEP CUT-AND-PASTE THE TEXT INTO
THE TEXT BOX INDICATED AT THE ABOVE URL.

You will have the opportunity to check and review your Abstract, prior to its submission to
the School. Once submitted, it cannot be modified.
