CHAPTER I

I. Introduction and Its Background

One in four Filipinos has High Blood Pressure, and half of that

number do not know they are hypertensive (Jambora, 2017). Hypertension

remains the leading cause of deaths for almost hundreds and thousands of

people. According to the Statistics, an estimate 200 000 deaths annually

can be attributed directly or indirectly to high blood pressure.

Hypertension is a disease that you can have for years without any

symptoms. Most people with high blood pressure have no signs or

symptoms. Having Hypertension can lead to various diseases such as

serious health problems including heart attack and stroke.

According to Mayo Clinic Staff, the risk of high blood pressure

increases as you age. Until about age 64, high blood pressure is more

common in men. Women are more likely to develop high blood pressure

after age 65.

High Blood Pressure can be lower by means of antioxidant rich diet.

White Ginger, Lemon and Honey are the food rich in antioxidants.
White Ginger is consisting of antioxidants and can be used to

improve blood circulation. It is a mild stimulant that is used to improve the

circulation. It can also treat high blood pressure by preventing the formation

of blood in the arteries and blood veins

(Tadimalla, 2017).

Lemon is full of Vitamin C, an antioxidant responsible for clearing the

body of free radicals. Research has demonstrated that free radicals play a

major role in cancer, heart disease, and other chronic health diseases.

Consuming lemon can help fight these free radicals and lessen their

burden on your body.

A new study shows that a daily dose of honey does more than just

satisfying your sweet tooth, it also raises levels of disease-fighting

antioxidants in the blood. According to Warner (2004), honey contains

varying concentrations of polyphenols, which are powerful antioxidants that

are thought to reduce the risk of heart disease and cancer. Polyphenols are

also found in fruits, vegetable, tea, and olive oil. The more polyphenol-

containing honey they ate, the higher the levels of antioxidants were in their

blood.

The higher intake of food rich in antioxidants the stronger it will fight

the free radicals that causes than diseases such as high blood pressure.
II. Problem

This study aims to produce 3 in 1 Powder Ginger Tea using White Ginger,
Lemon and honey.

Specially, it sought to answer the following question:

1. It is possible to produce a 3 in 1 Powder Ginger Tea using White Ginger, Lemon and

honey?

2. White ginger,Lemon,and honey help our body to become healthy?

3. Is there a significant different between 3 in 1 Powder Ginger Tea using white ginger

(Zingiber Officinale), Lemon (citrus) and Honey (Apis mellifera) And lowering Blood

Pressure?

III. Formulation of the Hypothesis

There is no significant relationship between 3 in 1 Powder Ginger Tea

using using white ginger (Zingiber Officinale), Lemon (citrus) and Honey

(Apis mellifera) And lowering Blood Pressure.


IV. Material

This study needed in making 3 in 1 powder ginger tea is 200 grams of

ginger, 100 grams of lemon and 40 ml of honey. We need to use blender to

powder or pulverize it, use sieve to totally pure powder. Use pan to

caramelize the honey and use custard cup to cool down the honey. This is

all materials that needed or use in this study.

V. Procedure

The process in making 3 in 1 powder ginger tea is First, gather 200

grams of ginger and 100 grams of lemon. Clean them by washing with

water until the sample are thoroughly Cleaned. The honey with 50 ml are

put into the pan to caramelize it and use custard cup to cool down the

honey.

Sliced each thinly of ginger and lemon and sun dried for a one week

and the honey pound it using blender. The samples were pulverize into

powder using blender. After that, sieving the pulverize to become a totally

pure powder and after that manufacturing in one container.


VI. Conclusion

If people with sickness like cough and etc. Drink our Product 3 in 1

Powder Ginger tea. Then They will feel much better and lighter feeling

when they speak of breaths.

VII. Result

The Result is quite better and perfect because of its taste. The taste

is little bit spicy, sour and sweet because of the ginger,lemon and honey. I

conclude its is safe for all children and adults.
