Spanish Denomination

As we all know, Philippines is bound to be a place where several of

different features are found. Have you been wondering why? There is no
assurance even you say you are a pure Filipino, we’ve been influence for many
years. Let’s dwell into the history of our country. Philippines, the country who
suffered in the past and had been slave by different countries. Manipulated and
had been taken for granted.
Japanese, Spanish and American, the countries that dominated
Philippines. The nation where we live were previously inhabited by these
different countries. Filipinos were in peace until the Spaniards ruled over our
country. Spanish is the greatest country that affect and oppressed our dignity
as a Filipino. We were dumbfounded and blinded by their sovereignty. They
take control over everything, our rights, the government and all over our
nation. Unfair judgements were given to Filipinos and we suffered for it for
hundreds of years. That why it is said that Spaniards influenced us the most.
From the language that we use; “puerta”, “uno, dos, tres…”, “chinelas”. Have
you ever wonder that these words came from Spanish? The foods that we eat
like lechon, some of our features and overall, our culture. Imagine, mistreated
and oppressed for more than 300 years by the Spaniards. How did the Filipinos
handle it? Filipinos were so naïve until Jose Rizal was born, he serves as an
inspiration and gave importance to our freedom. Through Jose Rizal Filipinos
opened their eyes and mind, and fight for our country. Heroes shed their
bloods for us to make Philippines an independent country. They sacrifice for
the country to bring back our freedom. Hundreds of years had passed until we
can raise back again our flag of freedom high and all of these is because of
their sacrifices.
Now, we should pay respect and be thankful that we are defended by our
heroes. The flag that we are raising symbolizes that we are free from those
enslavements by the other countries. Free to stand on our own, free to express
our own emotions, and free to declare that we have our own nation. A country
that has its own entity that could be proud of, the country where I live, and I’m
proud to say that country is Philippines.
