Scheme of Liberation and Rehabilitation of Scavengers (SLRs) (Sponsored by
RSCDCC) is one of the schemes implemented by our Bank and is aimed primarily at scheduled castes communities and is in consonance with the guidelines issued by the Reserve Bank of India. The object of the scheme is to liberate and rehabilitate scavengers and their dependents from their existing hereditary and obnoxious occupation of manually removing night soil and filth and to provide for and engage them in alternative and dignified occupation within a period of 5 years.
Eligibility:
• All scavengers belonging to the SC community as also those from other.
• Minimum age limit is above 18 years. • May be considered for assistance under the scheme even he /she has been assisted earlier under any subsidy linked scheme. • Defaulter applicant will not be eligible. • Scheme covers urban, semi urban, rural area
