CORPORATE WELLNESS PROGRAM

BACKGROUNDER

 We just completed ES Print’s Annual Physical

Examination (APE). Based on data obtained
from the APE, a number of concerns were
highlighted. These concerns are as follows:
 Almost half of the employees are considered to
be either “Obese” ,“Overweight” and
“Underweight” based on their Body Mass Index
(BMI)
 40% of employees are suffering from high levels
of triglycerides, uric acid, etc. ---- some of which
are the result of being overweight
BACKGROUNDER (Cont)

 Body Mass Index is a method of estimating a

person’s body fat levels based on a person’s
weight and height measurements
 It is calculated using the formula
BMI = Weight (kg) / [Height (m)]2
 Sample: Weight=68kg, Height=1.65m
BMI=68kg / [1.65] 2
BMI=68kg / 2.72m2 = 24.98
BACKGROUNDER (Cont)

 What your BMI result mean

 BMI below 18.5 = Underweight
 BMI 18.51-24.9 = Normal
 BMI 24.91-29.9 = Overweight
 BMI above 29.91 = Obese
BACKGROUNDER (Cont)
