As LSU’s hub of learning, the College provides transformative Christian education in the humanities, natural and social sciences to prepare the students in their

Goal and Objectives

 Foster in the students a sense of solidarity with the least, the last and the lost;
 Deepen students’ response in communion with God and with one another;
 Equip students to be able to act responsibly; and initiate social transformation as a response to the call of Jesus’ radical discipleship.

SYLLABUS

General Description
Subject : Lasalle
Descriptive Title : Life and Works of St. John Baptist de La Salle
Unit Credit : 3 units

I. Course Description

This course deals with the study of the lived experiences of the Beloved Founder: St. John Baptist de La Salle, in his Ministry of Education in the areas of Faith,
Service and Communion, as he teaches the minds, touches the hearts and transforms the lives of others. It also focuses on the discussion of the significant key
events in the life of St. John Baptist De La Salle, and eventually rediscover our link to the Lasallian story. It also explains his spirituality and mission, and at
the same time, points out its significance to today’s mission. Furthermore, it will hopefully lead and inspire them to pursue the Lasallian tradition and identity by
practicing the Lasallian way of life in the family, school, community and environment.

II. Course Objectives

While taking this course, the students are expected to:

1. identify key events in the life of St. John Baptist de La Salle


2. create meaning on the significant events in the life of St. La Salle in relation to their own key events in life
3. discuss their deeper understanding of the life and works of St. La Salle which is relevant to their lives as millennials
4. pinpoint the importance of the life and works of the Lasallian Saints, Lasallian Brothers and Lay partners, to the young of today
5. expose themselves to the life of the poor
6. help care for the environment for the life of the world
7. live in the Lasallian spirituality through prayers and actions (praxis)
8. participate in the contextualized Lasallian Mission unique in Mindanao (Subanen, Muslim, Bisaya)
9. evaluate their lives in the following areas: Education, Environment, Youth Formation, Youth Involvement and Good Governance at home, school,
boarding house, church and community (LAYA - Lasallian Youth Agenda)

The grades of the students are based on quizzes or short tests, recitation, homework or term paper, etc., and the periodical tests.
