SYSTEM MGO SEPARATE

REMARKS: Below information is not official release. And only based on

Mission PC version 1.99.10 and controller version 6.26 REV 941.

(1) MGO flushing in HFO line

If operator want the plant intend to operate with MGO for long peroid and intend to
stop HFO line circulation. Then below flushing sequence should be performed. The
purpose of this flushing sequence is to fill up the HFO line with MGO and to prevent
the system line is blocking with cooling HFO.

Initial state:
_Boiler operation in HFO (refer to PIC:1.1)
_F250(3 way valve to burner inlet supply) =HFO operation
_F253(3 way valve from burner outlet return) =HFO operation
_G115 (3 way valve in pump room) =HFO operation
PIC:1.1(Boiler operation in HFO mode)

Operation procedure:
_Change the boiler control mode from "Auto" to "Manual" and then stop the plant in manual
operation
_Stop FO pump (G 147) in manual
_Change 3 way manual valve (G115) in pump room from HFO position to MGO (make sure all
islotating valve from tank to G115 must be open)
_Then flushing sequence will start automatically as follow:
(1) G111 (3 way valve from HFO return line) =Chane to tank position
(2) G147 (FO pump ) =STOP position
(3) G20 (FO temperature control valve) =Fully close for temperature falling
(4) G28 (FO temperature transmitter) =Wait untill t< set point (100˚C)
_On PC screen it is showing as PIC:1.2.
PIC:1.2(Flushing temperature falling)

Once temperature less than set point(100˚C), flushing sequence will carry on as follow:
(1) G147 (FO pump ) =START position
(2) F94 (Flow regulation valve) =Open to set point (50%)
_On PC screen it is showing as PIC:1.3.

3
PIC:1.3(Flushing flow rising)

Once flow is stable at set point 50% flow, flushing sequence will carry on as following:
(1) Flush timer 2 =START time (300s)

_On PC screen it is showing as PIC:1.4.

PIC:1.4(Flushing wait timer)

Once flush timer 2 is finish (300s), flushing sequence will carry on as follow:
(1) G147 (FO pump) =STOP
(2) G450(MGO pump) =START
(3) F250(3 way valve to burner inlet supply) =MGO operation
(4) F253(3 way valve from burner outlet return) =HFO operation
(5) Flush timer 1 =START time(120s)
_On PC screen it is showing as PIC:1.5.

5
PIC:1.5(Flushing wait timer)

Once flush timer 1 is finish (120s), flushing sequence will carry on as follow:
(1) F253(3 way valve from burner outlet return) =MGO operation
(2) F256(By pass valve) =Open
(3) G450(MGO pump) =STOP
Flushing sequence is finish and boiler is ready to start with MGO operation.
_On PC screen it is showing as PIC:1.6.

Note: After performing of flushing sequence, MGO pump must be always start
by manual to fire up the boiler for first time. On next boiler fireing sequence,
MGO pump will be start/stop automatic by itself.
PIC:1.6(Boiler operation in MGO mode)

(2) HFO flushing (After HFO line have been flush by MGO)

If operator want the plant intend to operate with HFO after HFO line have been flush by
MGO. Then below flushing sequence should be performed. The purpose of this flushing
sequence is to flush up all MGO( which have been in HFO line) from HFO line before rising
the operation temperature.
Initial state:
_Boiler operation in MGO (refer to PIC:2.1)
_F250(3 way valve to burner inlet supply) =MGO operation
_F253(3 way valve from burner outlet return) =MGO operation
_F256(By pass valve) =Open
_ G115 (3 way valve in pump room) =MGO operation

7
PIC:2.1(Boiler operation in MGO mode)

Operation procedure:
_Change the boiler control mode from "Auto" to "Manual" and then stop the plant in manual
operation
_Change 3 way manual valve G115 in pump room from MGO position to HFO (make sure all
islotating valve from tank to G115 must be open)
_Then flushing sequence will start automatically as follow:
(1) F250(3 way valve to burner inlet supply) =HFO operation
(2) F253 (3 way valve from burner outlet return) =HFO operation
(3) F256(By pass valve) =Close
(4) G111 (3 way valve from HFO return line) =Chane to tank position
(5) G147 (FO pump ) =START position
(6) F94 (Flow regulation valve) =Open to set point (50%)
(7) Flush timer 5 =START time(60s)
_On PC screen it is showing as PIC:2.2.
PIC:2.2(Flushing wait timer)

Once flush timer 5 is finish (60s), flushing sequence will carry on as follow:
(1) G20 (FO temperature control valve) =Open for temperature rising
(2) Flush timer 2 =START time(300s)

_On PC screen it is showing as PIC:2.3

9
PIC:2.3(Flushing temperature rising)

Once temperature is higher than low FO temperature alarm point (80˚C), flushing sequence
will carry on as follow:
(1) G111 (3 way valve from HFO return line) =Chane to mixing tube position
(2) F94 (Flow regulation valve) =Open to standby position

Flushing sequence is finish and boiler is ready to start with HFO operation.

_On PC screen it is showing as PIC:2.4.

PIC:2.4(Boiler operation in HFO mode)

(3) MGO flushing with HFO circulation

If operator want the plant intend to operate with MGO but want to keep HFO circulation.
Then below flushing sequence should be performed. The purpose of this flushing sequence
is the plant can be change within short time for using MGO or HFO because of HFO
separate line is keep circulation to maintain temperature.

Initial state:
_ G115 (3 way valve in pump room) =HFO operation

11 
Operation procedure:
_Select the oil operation MGO or HFO . (As shown in PIC:3.1)

PIC:3.1(Selection of boiler operation)

_Then flushing sequence will start automatically as follow:

(1) F250(3 way valve to burner inlet supply) =HFO operation

(2) F253(3 way valve from burner outlet return) =HFO operation
(3) G450(MGO pump) =STOP position
(4) G111 (3 way valve from HFO return line) =Change to tank position
(5) G147 (FO pump) =START position
(6) F94 (Flow regulation valve) =Open to set point (50%)

_On PC screen it is showing as PIC:3.2

PIC:3.2 (Flushing flow rising)

Once flow is stable at set point 50% flow, flushing sequence will carry on as following:

(1) G28 (FO temperature transmitter) =Wait untill t< set point (100˚C)

_On PC screen it is showing as PIC:3.3

13 
PIC:3.3(Flushing temperature falling)

Once temperature less than set point(100˚C), flushing sequence will carry on as follow:
(1) G450 (MGO pump ) =START position
(2) F250(3 way valve to burner inlet supply) =MGO operation
(3) Flush timer 1 =START time(120s)

_On PC screen it is showing as PIC:3.4.

PIC:3.4(Flushing wait timer)

Once flush timer 1 is finish (120s), flushing sequence will carry on as follow:
(1) F253(3 way valve from burner outlet return) =MGO operation
(2) F256(By pass valve) =Open
(3) G450(MGO pump) =STOP
Flushing sequence is finish and boiler is ready to start with MGO operation.
_On PC screen it is showing as PIC:3.5.

Note: After performing of flushing sequence, MGO pump must be always start
