LUMS MBA
Preparing Global Business Leaders
The SDSB faculty has not only dedicated top tier researchers and academicians,
but also individuals with real life industry experience. This amalgamation of
business theory and practice is also reflected in our teaching pedagogy, the
Case Method. Combining practicality with a functional approach to learning,
students of the MBA Programme are exposed to real life challenges from day
one. This practical orientation in leadership and entrepreneurship in the context
of a global economy has made our graduates a prime choice of employers.
A close linkage with various research centres of SDSB ensures a relevant and
up to date curriculum. Courses on entrepreneurship, social enterprises, SME
industries, agriculture etc. add diversity to the electives. Local cases written
by our own faculty, as well as the use of international cases provide a local
grounding with a global perspective to graduates.

Our MBA Programme has been highly commended by the academic world
and other circles, within the country and abroad. Being ranked 8th in South
Asia in 2004 by AsiaInc. and among the top 20 in Asia in 2000 by Asiaweek,
are some of the laurels that we have achieved internationally. We have been
ranked as the best MBA Programme in the country by the Higher Education
Commission (HEC) of Pakistan.
Through the years we have held fast to our core values of merit, integrity,
CEO Mobilink
Zohair A. Khaliq academic freedom, diversity, tolerance and excellence. We have given the
addressing the students region over 3,000 experts in Finance, Marketing, Operations, Human
Resource Development and ensured that each individual has the best skill
set to compete in the professional world, be it with a multinational firm or
with a budding local enterprise.
' The method of learning here, the Case Method, is more advantageous than the
conventional learning method because every day and in every session, students are
challenged and are prepared to come face to face with solving real life problems and
see for themselves what possible implications their method of solving could bring to
their organization. This repeated experience of seeing how efficiently one can come
up with a solution and how good the solution is, makes a person progressively more
confident and secure in his/her abilities.'
