EXTRA HOMEWORK The Day of The Dead
The Day of the Dead is a Mexican Holiday celebrated in three days: it starts on October
31st and ends on November 2nd. It coincides with Catholic holidays in these same days. In this
Holiday there are a lot of parades and people normally go to the streets dressed as skulls to
honor the dead. The Day of the Dead exists to remember people that death is a natural part of
the cycle of life.
People in Mexico are not sad on the Day of the Dead, they are happy to help their family
and friends who have passed away on their spiritual jorney. It’s common in this day to offer food
and other objects in cemeteries. Also people go to church and pray for their loved ones.
