mine is a conventional open pit mine with 30 Cat 775 dump trucks and 7 operational 6018 excavators
moving 20MT/pa and 2.4 M/T zinc/copper ore for mill feed. 1500 total employees in remote Eritrea staff
the operation.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Coordinate and implement the Pit operational work plans in line with overall budgets and
forecasts
2. Maintain the established Safety standards – especially but not exclusive to the Open Pit – and
across all of site.
3. Provide information mining engineering and technical support as required to field personnel,
contractors, management, support staff and all site staff.
4. Oversee mining personnel administration and HR related management for the mining and
technical crews.
5. Oversee and monitor the implementation of the mine designs and schedules and control field
supervisors in accordance with work plan and schedule and measured compliance.
6. Maintain and update on Open Pit designs and updates and technical equipment settings / data.
7. Provide work, budgetary and safety reporting details to relevant management and finance staff.

The role reported to Mining Manager - as member of a team including all Mine Planning, Survey Geology

Riacho dos Machados Mine is a conventional open pit mine with 11 Cat 775G dump trucks and 5

Key Accountabilities:
1) Execute safety responsibilities, authorities and accountabilities consistent with (YAMANA
GOLD) safety management system requirements.
2) Develop and produce relevant Open Pit engineering designs and associated documentation,
including contributing to complex multi discipline projects.
3) Responsible for preparation and implementation of short-term mine planning, managing the
development of performance reports.
4) Drilling and Blast design plans and interaction with contractor (ENAEX Britanite) and D&B team
to aim controlling blast movement and consequently has improve grade and end-of-month
reconciliation, and being a low-grade bulk tonnage mine, this has substantially increased
revenue. Implementation of methodology for reconciliation of reserves, identifying and improving
critical control points.
5) Preparation of production schedules (Life of Mine Plan) with development of multiple scenarios,
focusing on the long term;
6) Optimization of the simultaneous scheduling of open pit;
7) Participation and preparation of Forecasts production and Annual Budgets;
8) Feasibility studies and techno-economic analysis of mining projects with final and sequential
determination of pits. Fleet sizing (Capex and Opex).
9) Provide authoritative expertise on engineering advice and services
10) Contribute to team success by following project plans and scheduled works for relevant Open
Pit engineering and production fronts.
