(THIRD FLOOR)

Date: 04 September, 2019 Time: 4:00-5:00 PM

On our second day of duty, we were assigned by Ms. Salazar at the third floor
wellness building construction. And upon arriving there together with my groupmates, Ms.
Dawn Visitacion, Ms. Jessa Amihan, Ms. Juliet Ruelan, Mr. Freddie Paraiso, Mr. Ronaldo
Barol, we were welcomed by no one except with the scattered scaffoldings and sacks of
rocks.
Since we arrived there with no workers around to ask with our set of questions, we
just for made for ourselves our own observations.
We have observed that the same type of first class insulator was used in this
wellness construction building in the insulator used at the new library building that is also
being constructed until now.
The installation of tiles and wirings were also on-going and also the reason why I
stumbled many times when I was there because of the tiles which were unevenly installed
yet and the nylons that was set us a guide. We have also observed that the stair railings
were done and nicely welded.
Beside the stairs was a shear wall constructed that is parallel to the plane of the
wall and that resists lateral forces.
For almost an hour roaming around the third floor, waiting for the workers to arrive,
finally one worker came up to tell us that the workers who were assigned here in this floor
were also the ones taking turns to work at the new library construction. Indeed so much of
a manpower problem to face in the construction industry. Maybe, on our next duty and
assigned area, these questions would be ask, “Why is there a lack of manpower?”,
”Where are the workers?”, “What must be the other factors?”. A thing to watch out for. ;)
