Topping

Description
Dr. Fixit CSL 4000 is composed of special cement, properly selected & graded aggregates, modified with
polymers, plasticiser and set of control additives. It is a one part self-smoothing compound which only requires a
measured amount of clean water to produce a self-smoothing, free flowing material.
It is used as an Industrial grade Cementitious topping and also for leveling of floors before application of any

modern flooring system because it provides smooth & leveled surface. Dr Fixit CSL 4000 is applied at thickness
from 3 to 15 mm (Thickness parameters mentioned in Features & Benefits).
Dr. Fixit CSL 4000 is used extensively for upgrading floors to specified levels prior to the installation of high risk
stocking systems.

Specification
Specification meets requirement of BS: 6319, BS: 1881.

Areas of Application
Dr Fixit CSL 4000 is used as self smoothing topping for
}} Finishing rough undulated floors which demands high degree of wear resistance.
}} Seamless floor refurbishment topping.
}} Renovation & up gradation of existing & new concrete floors.
}} Industrial & ware house concrete floors.
}} Pre-fabricated concrete floors.
}} Cementitious underlay for tiles, carpets, vinyl sheets, linoleum, rubber & other flooring materials.

Features & Benefits

}}Specialty – Formulated for application on old & new concrete floors.
}}Leveling – Self-leveling fluidity, thus provides smooth flat surface finish.
}} hickness – For commercial use as an underlayment – minimum 3 mm. For industrial use as an underlayment/
T
topping – minimum 5 mm.
}}Drying time – Dries much faster than normal cement mortars & slurries, thus minimizing down time.
}}Bond strength – Bonds strongly to old & new concrete floors because of polymer, thus prevents delamination &
pothole creation.
}}Ease of application – Easy to mix with water & leveled by serrated trowels & spike rollers.
}}Wear resistance – High degree of wear resistance.
}}Strength – Rapid strength gain for fast installation of floor coverings.
}}Saving – Low install cost and ready for foot traffic within 4-6 hrs.
}}Colours – Available in Red/ Green/Yellow/Grey and Brown.
}}Joint Design – All expansion joints, movement joints are to be brought over through subsequent flooring system
& to be treated with sealants. Consult technical team for detailed specification in case of other type of joints.
}}Faster output – Around 1500 sq.m per day can be executed from each pump.

Method of Application

}} The substrate should be clean, sound and free from loose material and contamination such as plaster, oil, paint,
grease, etc. Wire brush or abrade the surface by mechanical means or light sand blasting.
}}Degrease oil & grease by using degreasing solvents like xylene, toluene, acetone, thinner, etc.
}} New concrete should be at least 7 days old.

}} Large cracks and holes may be filled using a mix consisting of equal volumes of Dr. Fixit CSL 4000 and clean
sharp sand made up to a trowelable mortar consistency, by the addition of required quantity of water.
2 Priming
}}Prime the substrate with Dr. Fixit Pidicrete MPB in 1:3 dilution with water initially. After this first coat dries, the
area should be be primed with Dr.Fixit Pidicrete MPB in 1:1 dilution with water prior to the application of Dr. Fixit

CSL 4000.
}}Dr. Fixit CSL 4000 should be applied while the primer is in tacky condition, before it is tack free.
}} Take care to avoid ponding of primer.
}} Application should be done with brush or broom.
3.Mixing
}}Dr. Fixit CSL 4000 should be mixed with a heavy-duty drill fitted with a paddle/ helical paddle stirrer
at 600 rpm.
}} harge 4.5 to 5.25 litres of potable water [w/p = 0.18 to 0.21] in a clean vessel and start the mixer. While mixing
C
gradually start addition of 25 Kg Dr. Fixit CSL 4000 powder within 2 minutes & then mix for further 1-2 minutes
to a homogeneous free flowing paste without formation of any lumps, segregation & flooding of water.
}} Use cold water at high temperature (> 35oC).
}} For continuous application & improved efficiency, it is suggested to use atleast 2 to 3 mixing vessles.
}} For larger area application, high volume pan mixer or pump are recommended.

Note : Start with minimum recommended water powder ratio and then keep adding water until the desired con-
sistency is achieved. In any case do not use more water than the outer limit of recommended water powder ratio.

4 Appl i c at i o n
}}Lay the mix in bays marked to ensure coverage/ required thickness.
}} Pour the mixed material onto the primed substrate, spread with a serrated trowel or squeegee and allow to self-
level.
}} The material must then be rolled with spiked roller to release air and achieve final leveling. Rolling must be done
immediately after placing the material. Do not attempt to float the setting surface.
}} The required thickness must be achieved in one application. Also the best results are achieved when the pouring
and leveling is a continuous process until the designated area is completed. Good site organization is essential.
}} The discharge point of the pump hose should be approximately 200 mm from the floor to prevent splashing &
air entrapment.
}} Do not create new edges & fill the material in the middle.
}} Large areas should be subdivided by using temporary dividing strips.
}} Freshly laid Dr. Fixit CSL 4000 should be protected from direct sunlight and/or strong drying winds until the
material is hard (Minimum 24 hours).
5 C le a n i n g
All tools & tackles are to be cleaned immediately after application with soap water solution.
6 C u r i n g
Curing is generally not required, as it is a self curing system.

Chemical Resistance & Durability

Dr. Fixit CSL 4000 has good resistance to water and oils. However, if continual contact with water is expected, or
attack from organic solvents, organic/inorganic acids is likely, then the surface should be protected by a suitable
resin coating. Dr. Fixit CSL 4000, if not overcoated, then it may be cleaned with a rotary scrubbing machine. It
should not be cleaned with strong acidic or alkaline based cleaning materials.

skin. During use, avoid inhalation of dust and contact with skin and eyes. Wear suitable protective clothing,
gloves, eye protection and respiratory protective equipment. The use of barrier creams provide additional skin
protection.
}} EYE CONTACT: Immediately splash eyes with plenty of water. Consult Physician if irritation persist.
