the natural world and among objects in the sky. The student is expected to:
(C) Explore the processes in the water cycle, including evaporation, condensation, and
precipitation, as connected to weather conditions.

*Cold Water *Towel *Water Cycle Pictures
*Water Cycles Song Lyrics Poster *Water Cycle Unlabeled Poster

with definition on the chalkboard and have the students write them down.
b. Explain evaporation by putting snow in a cup, watch it melt, then disappear,
and talk about where did it go. Explain condensation by pouring cold water
on a glass, watch water form on the outside of the glass, talk about how water
came from the air. Explain precipitation by soaking a towel with water, towel
could only hold so much water before it starts dripping.
2. Water cycle activity
a. Have 9 students go up to the front of the room and each of the students hold a
big picture of water, sun, evaporation, clouds, land, condensation, rain,
flowers, and precipitation. I would put them in order first and have the other
children that are sitting down say what they see.
b. Have the 9 students switch pictures and get in order on their own.
c. Practice Water Cycle Song (see attached lyrics). Have students echo one line
at a time and have lyrics in a big poster.

have each student write down the answers in a piece of paper.
