This Teacup Pouch pattern was originally featured in Pretty


Little Purses & Pouches by Lark Books in 2008. This pattern
booklet also includes templates for CoffeeMug & HotCocoa
pouches, and detailed instructions for installing the zipper and
making the handle.

Use ¼" seam allowance unless otherwise stated.


Please read all of the instructions before starting your project.

Cutting
From 5 x 8" piece of cotton, cut:
2 - teacup tops
From 8 x 8" piece of cotton, cut:
2 - teacup bottoms
From 8 x 12" piece of cotton, cut:
2 - teacup linings
From 8 x 14" piece of cotton, cut:
1 - 2 x 8" bias strip for handle, 2 - 2 x 7½" strips for rim
From muslin cut:
2 - 7½ x 9" squares for quilt backing, 2 - 3 x 3" squares for tag
From batting, cut:
2 - 7½ x 9" squares
From cream felt scrap, cut:
1 - tea tag
From ribbon, cut:
2 - 7½" lengths
Tea Tag Finishing
1.    Write or stamp the word tea in the centre of the 2 squares of 19.    Fingerpress the seams open at the rim. Reach through
muslin using a marker or stamp pad for fabric. Let dry and iron the opening, unzip the zipper all the way and turn right side

Quilted Sides Assembly
5.    You will be making 2 quilted sides. With right sides 15.    The side that the zipper pull is at when the zipper is

BOOKLET ASSEMBLY

Instructions for assembling the pattern booklet.

Method #1 (best results)


Print the cover on 8½ x 11" high quality professional matte
photo paper using a borderless setting. Print the page with
Stitches & Terms on the back of the cover page. Print the
page with cutting instructions, and the page with steps 1, 2,
19 & 20 on opposite sides of the same paper. Print the page
with 17, 18 , 3 & 4 and the page with steps 5, 6, 15, 16 on
opposite sides of the same paper. Print the page with 13, 14,
7 & 8 and the page with steps 9 -12 on opposite sides of the
same paper. Fold so that pages are in the correct order. Tie
pages together with a couple stitches at the fold.

Method #2
Print each page on a different piece of paper. Layer pages on
top of each other as follows: Cover face down ; page with
Stitches & Terms face up; page with cutting instructions
face down; page with steps 1, 2, 19 & 20 face up; page with
steps 17, 18 , 3 & 4 face down; page with steps 5, 6, 15, 16
face up; page with steps 13, 14, 7 & 8 face down; page with
steps 9 - 12 face up. Fold all pages in half towards you and
tie pages together with a couple stitches at the fold.
