EGGS TO ORDER
• Boiled Eggs - (Types - Soft Boiled, Hard Boiled).

• Scrambled Eggs - (eggs, milk, salt, pepper, butter).

• Egg bhurji - Indian variant of scrambled eggs. Additions include onions, green chillies, chopped
ginger, turmeric powder and chopped tomatoes. Sprinkled with chopped green coriander.

• Akuri - Akuri is a spicy scrambled egg dish eaten in Parsi cuisine of India. Akuri is cooked until almost runny; the eggs
are never overcooked. The main flavouring is fried onions and the spices used are ginger, coriander, chopped chilies,
and black pepper.

• Poached Eggs - (Use the freshest egg you can find, Add a small dash of vinegar to a pan, The water should not be
boiling, but more than simmering so that the movement in the water can be seen, Never season the water with salt
because this will cause the white of the eggs to break up and go wispy).

• Fried Eggs - (Types - Sunny Side up and Over Easy).

• Omelette - (Types - Masala, French, Spanish).


MEAT
• Ham – Ham is pork that has been preserved through salting, smoking, or wet curing. It was traditionally made

only from the hind leg of swine, and referred to that specific cut of pork.

• Bacon – Bacon is a meat product prepared from cured pork. It is first cured using large quantities of salt,

either a brine or a dry packing. Fresh bacon may then be dried for weeks or months in cold air, or it may be

boiled or smoked.

• Sausages – A sausage is a cylindrical meat product usually made from ground meat, often pork, beef, or veal,

along with salt, spices and other flavourings, and breadcrumbs, with a skin around it.

• Salami - Salami is a type of cured sausage consisting of fermented and air-dried meat, typically beef or pork.

A Danish pastry or just Danish is a multi-layered, laminated sweet pastry in the viennoiserie (Viennoiseries (French) are baked
goods made from a yeast-leavened dough in a manner similar to bread, or from puff pastry, but with added ingredients giving
them a richer, sweeter character, approaching that of pastry. The dough is often laminated) tradition. The concept was brought

• Elevenses is a short break for light refreshments sometimes biscuits, usually

with tea or coffee, taken at about eleven o'clock in the morning.


BRUNCH
• Brunch is a combination of breakfast and lunch eaten usually during the late
morning to early afternoon, generally served from 11am up to 3pm and
regularly has some form of alcoholic drink (most usually champagne or
a cocktail) served with it. The word is a portmanteau of breakfast and lunch.
Brunch originated in England in the late 19th century and became popular in
the United States in the 1930s.
LUNCH
• Lunch, the abbreviation for luncheon, is a meal typically eaten at midday. The
origin of the words lunch and luncheon relate to a small snack originally eaten
at any time of the day or night. During the 20th century the meaning
gradually narrowed to a small or mid-sized meal eaten at midday. Lunch is
commonly the second meal of the day, after breakfast. The meal varies in size
depending on the culture, and significant variations exist in different areas of
the world.
HIGH TEA
• High tea is the British tradition of drinking tea while sitting in high-backed
chairs at a table full of plated items such as cold meats, vegetables, pickled
fish, potatoes, salads, pies, tarts, homemade bread or crackers with butter,
teacakes and fruitcakes. It’s basically dinner, and in the working parts of
England today, the word “tea” is used for a meal happening (with tea) from 5
to 7 p.m.
• Tea — as well as the time to enjoy it at length — was expensive for many,
and high tea started as something for royals and aristocrats to take in the
afternoon in a leisurely fashion while seated in posh chairs. However, when
the Industrial Revolution took over the UK in the 18th century, it meant that
most factory workers were further away from their homes and needed a
break from work by 6 p.m. that included food and tea. Thus high tea crossed
class divides and became a regular happening for workers
HIGH TEA
• The use of the word “high” marks it as different from a similar tradition of
afternoon tea, where the tea happens in casual chairs or sofas that are lower
and possibly more soft and relaxing. The phrases can be confusing, but
afternoon tea and high tea are generally not interchangeable, though they do
centre around the serving of hot tea.
• Today, many upscale hotels in America and the UK offer high tea that has
elements of afternoon tea as a way to draw in travellers seeking an elegant
version of the time-honoured tradition with hot pots of tea and an ample
food buffet of crust less“tea sandwiches” in variations like egg and
watercress, cucumber, smoked salmon and chicken.

DINNER
• French, from verb "diner," meaning to dine. First instance of this work in
English print is 1297: "The chief meal of the day, eaten originally, and still by
the majority of the people, about the middle of the day, but now, by the
professional and fashionable classes, usually in the evening."
• Dinner usually refers to the most significant and important meal of the day,
which can be the noon or the evening meal. However, the term "dinner" can
have many different meanings depending on the culture; it may mean a meal
of any size eaten at any time of the day. Historically, it referred to the first
meal of the day, eaten around noon, and is still sometimes used for a noon-
time meal, particularly if it is a large or main meal. The meaning as the
evening meal, generally the largest of the day, is becoming a standard in many
parts of the English-speaking world.
SUPPER
• Supper is associated with the evening. It comes from the Old French
word souper meaning “evening meal.” It has traditionally been used in the
context of the last meal taken by Jesus before his crucifixion, known as the
Last Supper.

• Any light evening meal, especially one taken late in the evening: an after-the-
theatre supper.
• In parts of the United Kingdom, supper is a term for a snack eaten after the
evening meal and before bed, usually consisting of a warm, milky drink and
British biscuits or cereal, but can include sandwiches.
