English IV-Period 1

I remember watching my brother’s teammates arguing all game long like two bumper cars
always colliding with one another. For some reason, Clarence and Timothy always had tension
with one another, ever since they were little kids. However, for some reason, today it felt
different, as if there were dark grey clouds hovering over them while everyone else felt the sun’s
golden light beaming fiercely upon them.

“Tim pass the ball!” Clarence said.

“TIM!!” Clarence said once more.

“Im open bro!” Clarence yelled out.

“Ok Clarence, here you go.” Tim replied.

“Thank god man!” Clarence said.

When I saw Clarence take the shot, I knew it wasn’t gonna go in. Not because I thought he was a
bad player or anything, actually he was hands down the best player I had ever seen. The only
reason I knew that the shot was going to miss, was well because Clarence, despite having
everything you would want in a player as a coach, he did have a problem with controlling that
temper of his…

“That’s why you wanted the ball Clarence?” Tim laughed.

“Yea, what’s your point.” Clarence said.

“I WAS OPEN LIKE 2 MINUTES AGO! YOU TOOK TOO LONG SO I HAD TO TAKE A
BAD SHOT!”
Clarence added on.

“Well you still missed Clarence so…” Tim smirked.

“Okay cool.” Clarence said.

“Well you’re trash.” Tim smiled.

“OH I’M TRASH?! SAYS THE ONE WHO MISSED AT LEAST 10 CLEAR
OPPORTUNITIES IN THE FIRST 10 MINUTES OF THE GAME!” Clarence blurted out.

“Yea? Well I still scored so…” Tim said as he taunted Clarence.

As every second of the game went by, the tension between them grew more and more. Clarence’s
head turned red like an airhead while Timothy was as cool as a cucumber. Although Clarence
and Timothy were about 300ft away from each other, you could sense something very off, almost
as if God himself was trying to give everyone a hint that something was going to happen that
would change not only my life, but Clarence’s forever… And just like that Clarence snapped. His
eyes began to see blood red as he charged towards Timothy at full speed. He had to be going at
least 30 miles per hour.

“Bro just SHUT THE F**K up already!” Clarence yelled.

“Woah Clarence. Chillax fam.” Tim said as he walked back slowly.

When I seen Clarence outrun Timothy, I for sure thought that was the end of it. Especially when
all of their teammates had finally gotten a sense of what was happening and broke the two up.
But no, I was very wrong, very wrong indeed…

“YO! Clarence bro, it’s not worth it.” Alex said.

“Yea Clarence, You’re acting like a real jerk right now.” Jerome added on.

“Really bro me? Timothy is out here bullying me right now and I’m the jerk?!” Clarence replies
.
“Hmmm...No I'm not Clarence...you are...lol” Tim said.
“OH MY GOD! I’M GONNA KILL YOU!” Clarence yelled as he charged towards Tim again.

I got up from the bleachers as I began to watch one of the most terrifying and traumatizing
moments of my life. I could feel my muscles tense up and the salty sweat run down my forehead.
Clarence had grabbed Timothy and started punching and kicking him. Timothy was unconscious
but Clarence did not stop. It was as if Clarence was a bull and Timothy’s body was a red cape. I
heard the bones crunch and the terrified screams of some of the parents. Soon after, sirens began
to wear off in the distance as they grew louder and louder, closer and closer…
“YO! CHILL CLARENCE! WHAT DID YOU DO?!” Jerome said as he saw Tim’s lifeless body
flip over.
I wish I could forget those words, but I know that I can’t, those words have replayed in my head
over and over till this very day...
