Musical Memory

I slowly opened the door, trying not

to make a sound. I'm dead meat if
mom wakes up; she would sermon
me nonstop on how late I got
home.

I made a small opening through the

door and peeked in a bit. Seems
like they're all asleep, phew. As I
was closing the door, I felt
something hold onto my leg.

"Boss!" I sighed in relief to see my

cat.

I carried Boss and walked towards my room.

As I got to my room, I noticed a box placed on my table. I looked at it. There

had a note, but I didn't bother reading it. It was too lengthy. It was signed
"Your one and only Tom" and WOW! there were four slices of banana cake and
a jar of nutella.

After bathing, I went to the window, opening it. It was cold. The stars were
bright and the moon was gorgeous. The night was perfect for some music.

I put my headset and played a song. I looked at the nice view and the music
made it all better. The song ended, and "Close to you" by Carpenters played. I
quickly took off my headset and stopped the music.

My chest was hurting. I calmed myself down, trying to control my emotions.

I exhaled.

"I won't cry", I told myself and shut my feelings.

I wore my headset again, but played a different song.

"Turn up the music, turn down the drama", I told myself. And that's what I did.

In full volume, I let the music take over my soul.
