Objectives of the Study
For the problems stated, earlier these objectives
would help to solve it. So the general objectives of
our proposal first is to decongest the flights and
traffic in NAIA and to cater the passengers or
travelers in Southern Luzon. Also since NAIA has
already reach its maximum capacity of passengers
this proposal will minimize the overcapacity that
NAIA handles every year. And also not only to
decongest NAIA terminal but also to minimize the
users of EDSA roads since it always experience
traffic.
Significance of the Study
As the result of the increasing number of local
passengers, OFWs, and tourists in the Philippines
this proposal will support traffic decongestion in
other international airports located in Luzon and
encourage further development of Batangas as well
as its neighboring areas such as opportuning of
business ventures for foreign and local investors
and boosting its local economy and tourism.
So before going to the selected sites, let’s first
proceed here in the Philippine Map, our location of
our site is in Batangas. So why Batangas? First of all,
it’s a proposed project of the Batangas
Government. Second of all, in terms of tourist
arrivals Batangas gets the first place all over the
CALABARZON. You don’t have to arrive in NAIA if
you’re from a different country or not from Luzon
just go directly in the Batangas International
Airport.
Alitagtag, Batangas
Municipality of Alitagtag is a 4th class municipality
and is generally a peaceful town in the heart of
Batangas. Here shows the facilities and
establishments near the proposed site; inside the
3km radius of the site there are two institutional
buildings either barangay halls or municipal halls. In
5km radius there are 3 and in 10km radius there are
6.
The red ones are police stations and fire stations
near the proposed site. Alitagtag fire station is the
nearest which is just 1.76km away from the site.
The blue ones are the branches of different hospital
and the closest one is 6.75km.
The yellow ones are the utilities, this includes the
water, electricity, communications and waste
disposal.
Transportation. In terms of transportation, we
focused on how to get to Manila with what mode of
transportation as well as the distance how far it is
to each other. The use of roads here are SLEX and
President JP Laurel Highway. Mode of
transportation are Van, Bus and Jeep.
We also consider the neighboring areas that the
Batangas International Airport might cater like
Bicol, Mindoro, Some parts in Laguna and Quezon
Province.
From Mindoro to the port of Batangas would take 4
hours and from Mindoro to Alitagtag is 148km.
From Quezon Province to Alitagtag takes 2 hours
with 97.5 km.
From Laguna (Los Banos) would talke an hour for a
59.5km using also the road Star Tollway.
From Bicol Region specifically Camarines Norte
would take 6 hours for a 296km.
Ibaan, Batangas
Ibaan is a Second Class Municipality in the Province
of Batangas. Ibaan, then, was only a barrio or a part
of the town of Batangas, now Batangas City.
There are 7 institutional buildings. The nearest Fire
Station is in Cuenca, Batangas which is inside the
radius of 10km meaning it takes awhile for a fire
rescue would get to the site.
Hospital, the nearest is inside the 5km radius which
is the St. James The Greater General Hospital.
Transportation to Manila the roads are Star Tollway
and SLEX
From Mindoro to the port of Batangas would take 4
hours and from Mindoro to Alitagtag is 147km.
From Quezon Province to Alitagtag takes 1 hours
with 64.2 km.
From Laguna (Los Banos) would take an hour for a
64.9km using also the road Star Tollway.
From Bicol Region specifically Camarines Norte
would take 5 hours for a 272km.
Rosario, Batangas
The Municipality of Rosario is located at the
southeastern portion of Batangas Province along
the province’s southeastern boundaries with
Quezon Province.
