CHED draws New School Calendar Year

Calendar can be one of the basic needs of human beings. It is where

CHED promoted the opening of classes in Public Schools or University State Colleges, but Private schools
still sticks to the old curriculum. WVSU-JC learners silently shocked about the rumors that they've heard.

New Campus Calendar , Academic Year 2019-2020 was adjusted or shifted for several months. First
Semester starts from August to December , and Second Semester will start in a ( new year month)
January and ends in (Summer Season) May.

It has been perfectly organized by the government and educational institutions. For the sake of Filipino
learners, as well as the foreigners that chooses to get academic degrees, to study here in the Philippines.
Aligning the academic calendar to the international standards is an initial step to becoming world-class.

Purpose behind implementing the New Calendar Year is considering the concerns of citizens and
learners. One factor causes the learners absences was a floods and typhoons which hits during the
months of June to August. Students will be attending classes in the hottest days of the year, that is, April
to May. One could imagine visually having their classes in not well-ventilated classrooms.

Nevertheless, learners came to realized and accepted openly the changes. This will be a tool to help
learners to become globally competitive. It is beneficial for graduates to get jobs easier and faster when
they go abroad. The quality of education in the Philippines is in its move to improvement. Having this
new academic calendar seems offers a great sacrifice, it can have better results in the future.
