Reports of Underwater Pyramid off the Coast of Terceira

Island
Created on Thursday, 26 September 2013 12:05

Portuguese news sites are reporting on the apparent discovery of a man-made subaquatic pyramid
between the islands of São Miguel and Terceira in the Azore in Portugal. The underwater pyramidal
structure was found by a private yacht owner, Diocleiano Silva, who spotted the strange shaped
object on sonar at a depth of 40 metres while sailing in the area.
The structure is said to be perfectly squared and oriented by the cardinal points. It is thought to be
approximately 60 metres tall with a base of around 8,000 square metres. The Portuguese
Hydrographic Institute of the Navy is currently analysing the data to determine whether it is in fact
man-made or not.

'Sunken Atlantis Pyramid' Discovered off Azores Coast

Created on Thursday, 26 September 2013 11:09

A huge pyramid had been discovered off the Azores islands by Portuguese amateur sailor Diocletian
Silva.
The 60m-tall structure was found underwater between the islands of Sao Miguel and Tercira. Its
base measures 8,000 sq m - bigger than a football field - and Silva believes it was man-made.
He says his find may be a remnant of the legendary lost world of Atlantis, which sank into the ocean
after a failed attempt to invade Athens.
Silva found the pyramid around five months ago while fishing on his yacht in the area. He
discovered the structure through bathymetric navigation and its tip is submerged around 40ft.

readings. The author does not believe that the pyramid is of natural origin.
The matter is already being investigated with the support of the Portuguese Navy.
Terceira, is an island in the Azores archipelago, in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. It is one
of the larger islands of the archipelago, with a population of 56,000 inhabitants in an area of

Giant Underwater Pyramid Found Near Azores Islands

Created on Wednesday, 25 September 2013 11:25

Researchers (I’m not sure what they’re researching, the ocean?) have discovered what appears to be
a giant underwater pyramid in the middle of the ocean near an area known as the Bank De Joao de
Castro. This is in between the islands of Terceira and Sao Miguel, in the middle of the Azores
archipelago which is situated in the middle of the North Atlantic Ocean. The pyramid is allegedly
60m high and has a base of 8000 square metres which makes it a pretty significant structure, even if
it is sitting on the ocean floor.
It was discovered by sailor Diocleciano Silva via bathymetry readings (these are actually a really
concept – it’s the study of the underwater depth of lake or ocean floors) and is currently being
seriously investigated by these researchers with the assistance of the Portuguese Navy. Diocleciano
Silva doesn’t believe that the pyramid can possible be of man made origin given where it is located
but no definitive answers about it have been given yet. However, given the fact that the area has
been underwater for 20,000 years since the last ice age, it definitely seems like something out of the
ordinary is up with it.

After a failed attempt to invade Athens, Atlantis sank into the ocean “in a single day and night of
misfortune.
The newly discovered Pyramid is said to be sixty meters tall with a base of approximately 8,000

directions, similar to the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Atlantis Found? Underwater Pyramid Found In Azores 2013

Created on Wednesday, 25 September 2013 09:55

Legends of an advanced prehistoric civilization know as Atlantis have been around since the
beginning of history, but previously those who searched for it were divided whether or not it was
located near the Azores, South America or elsewhere.
From as far back as Plato it was suggested the original builders of the pyramids lived west of
Gibraltar, but findings of Machu Picchu, and other curiosities in the Mediterranean, led people to
believe it was on the other side of the Atlantic.
According to Diocleciano Silva, the newly discovered Pyramid is sixty meters tall with a base of
approximately 8,000 square meters. It is around forty meters below water and aligned with the four
cardinal compass directions, similar to the Great Pyramid of Giza.

Under water pyramid off the Azores islands?

Created on Tuesday, 24 September 2013 09:24

An apparently man-made pyramid oriented to the cardinal directions has been identified by sonar at
a depth of approximately 40 metres (130 feet) under water off the Azores islands. See here for a
video (Portuguese commentary) of the discovery: http://videos.sapo.pt/9j3fd6z5h8cVMiBr5sUa.
The location is between Sao Miguel and Terceira (the biggest Azorean Islands) and it also lies close
to this underwater volcano: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dom_Jo%C3%A3o_de_Castro_Bank.
Many thanks to Pedro Branco, Eduardo Costa, Viviana Lopes, Daniel Mendes, Jo Anne Taisbin and
others who have messaged me to tell me about this. The name of the discoverer, featured in the
video, is Diocleciano Silva. According to the video the discovery was made five months ago but
there has been minimal international coverage up to now. Eduardo Costa and Daniel Mendes both
sent me a link to this short article on the subject in English:

The Azores are a chain of nine volcanic islands in three main groups that are 930 miles west of
Lisbon. They are above what is known as a geological triple junction where the North American,
Eurasian, and African tectonic plates meet. They were recolonized in 1941, but artifacts have been
found suggesting they had been previously inhabited. Those artifacts are thought to have predated
Christ by a few thousand years, but the location of the pyramid has been below water for 20,000
years since the last ice age.
